Query on mixed electrics

I've been reading various threads and doing a bit of research online regarding electrical rewiring but I need a bit of advice on what type of work my house might actually need. When we bought the house, one of the things raised on the survey report was that there are mixed electrics in isolated locations which may require upgrading. Can anyone advise on what this actually means in terms of the volume of work that will be required?

This sounds a bit vague.
Best option is to get a periodic inspection done by a registered contractor.
Eca or Nic both have websites you can get firms names from.
Price would be about £100 for a three bed house dependant on where you live obviously.
This will tell you any problems with the wiring in your house.
It may be though that the wiring is in such poor shape that a test is pointless and they would advise you to have the house rewired.0
