Need Carpets and Fitting
I have just been to a high street carpet shop and wondered if it is better to get a carpet from them and get them to fit it (£2.50/m2 + £30 delivery) or to contact a carpet fitter direct and get him to do it, or get him to supply and fit the carpets? Im confused as to which would be the cheapest/best way to do it? Any…

G4 watt usages, electric cost
I want to gauge the cost of using g4 bulbs. I have put a ceiling light in it has 12 x 10W g4 bulbs = 120Watts Is this correct. Cost of 1 hr usage = 120Watts 1000watts = 1KWP, which equals the 1 unit on electric meter. So if light was on for 10 hrs , it be 10 x 120Watts = 1200 watts and if 1kwp cost 0.12p = then total cost…

Cesspool question
Can anyone help? We are about to buy a house that has a cesspool. We think it is the sealed type, not one that treats and then leaches out water. Are we right in thinking all household water would go in it, ie. the dishwasher, washing machine etc. Any clues to how often this would need emptying, based on two adults, (with…

How do i clean a solid oak table?
We have a solid oak table which is currently covered up with a nasty vinyl tablecloth because i cannot clean it! Washer dryer-good idea?
My kitchen has recently had a bit of a revamp and the old washing machine now looks rubbish! It was a white one but now looks decidedly yellow. It works ok, but is very noisy on a spin cycle. We don't have any room for a tumble dryer, so we were considering getting a washer-dryer. I know they don't have a brilliant…
