Hi all,
Am in process of buying first house. 3 bed semi. Have had quotes for knocking down wall between kitchen and diner and making bath/sink and separate wc into one bigger bathroom.
I do not know how much to budget for plastering (just the areas affected by the internal walls) tiling, kitchen fitting, electrics (not rewire-just new RCD box and a few more plugs) and flooring (laminate in lounge and kitchen-diner, carpet upstairs, not sure about bathroom yet). Does anyone have any idea how much this would cost?
I am new to this game and would appreciate any help offered!
Thanks,
Rob

Prices seem to vary so much when getting quotes (depending how popular the trades person is and your location). I can only tell you what we paid to give you some approximation....
We paid about £55 per plug socket and about £300 maybe £350 for the RCD box.
Flooring can be as much as you like...why don't you just pop into a carpet shop to get an idea. Laminate can cost as little as £5 a square meter, but you get what you pay for. You can also pay £50 a square meter for real wood floors.
Tiling depends of the type of tiles, how big they are I think. Expect to pay about £20 - £30 a square meter I think.0
