What do I do?

I bought a sofa from the Sofa Workshop back in the summer 08 and since then the company has gone into administration. One of the zips on the cushions is faulty and has broken. I have called them and they say that the new owners are not honouring guarantees (I had a 7 year one on my sofa), however since it seems the goods were faulty, am I entitled to claim under the sale of goods act which protects against faulty goods for 6 years from purchase?

Has anyone else ever invoked this with any success? I understand most shop staff will not have a clue about this act but do I have a chance of getting any joy?

Any info would be most appreciated.

Many thanks

They did go into administration in January 09.

They probably have been bought by one of the interested parties and are up and running again, unless the administrators are still at the healm.
