currently completely stripping kitchen and refitting and it used to have a scale inhibitor in-line where the water came into the house. This was removed as it was alling apart and leaking and has since been replaced with a small, in-line water meter by 3Valleys. Is it worth me fitting a water softner just to be on the safe…

Central heating queries
We have moved into our new home and discovered central heating boiler badly rusting and perforated. Radiators are showing similar signs of corrosion, we have replaced the boiler, flushed the system and added inhibitor to the system. Question? What may have been the cause of the corrosion and how do we prevent reoccurence?…

Sony Handycam
I have one to sell, but instead of selling it on Ebay, I was wondering if there are any other auctions sites which are just as popular as Ebay? Are there any shops which will buy goods off you, not pawnbrokers though?

We are currently in the process of designing a new house. Due to planning constraints it can only be 90 sq m in size. Condensing Combi- what shower?
I am following the various threads about boilers with great interest. Our boiler is dying, or so BG tell me. We're planning to refit our bathroom next year. What shower has to go with a Combi? Does it feed hot water from the boiler, or does it have to be one with just a cold water feed that heats it itself?

powerflush
Friend has a combi boiler producing hot water and running 5 rads hot water has failed, apparently caused by the use of second hand rads, plumber has quoted £200 for a replacement valve plus £150 labour. A powerflush is recommended for £250 more. I`m incline to trust the diagnosis as the plumber is known to us but £600 is…

Planning Permission??
Our next door neigbour has added a fairly large extension onto the back of his detached garage. I would estimate it has increased the size by about one third. Did they need planning permission to do this? (it doesn't affect light or anything in our garden, was just wondering). Thanks
