Internal Vacuum System

We are currently in the process of designing a new house. Due to planning constraints it can only be 90 sq m in size. My fiancée is keen on the idea of one of these internal vacuum systems (large cylinder in the garage, pipe work round the house etc.). I was wondering if anyone else has had such a system fitted and:
1) Do you think it was worth the expense? How much (roughly) does it cost?
2) Is it really worth it for a small house?
3) How environmentally sound are they?
4) Any particular manufacturer that you were pleased with?
I'm kind of sceptical about the whole thing, but would love to know what others have experienced!

I think they could be a good idea, used one, never fitted one, but looking on this site they seem fairly good value for money
