How do I repair a patchy anaemic looking lawn?

Hi All Will be replacing my front door soon, and have my eye on a model from the PVCu range at Homebase. Has anyone out there bought doors from them? Roof Insulation advice please !!
Can anyone help with advice on what to look for when buying roof insulation. We are only doing a bit at a time as we need to cover the insulation with boards to create more floor/storage space, but we have no idea about thickness levels etc and where to get a good deal.
