squirt of Veet down the plughole, leave for 10mins, then rinse with hot water - should clear any blocks0

Try a crochet hook - I use extra long ones known as Tunisian crochet hooks but a short one should be fine!
Good luck!0 -
I use the coated wire that you hang net curtains/voile up on. I saw this on the t.v and have used mysef ever since - I have v long hair. The first time I did it, I pulled and a long black snake of hair came up - coated with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel etc. I felt ill(and it was my hair). However it has never been as bad as that again. I couldn't believe how much was down there - you couldn't see it - I just saw it on tv and thought I'd have go - never imagining what would appear.0

We had this problem, caused by me 'n' daughter
I bought this thing, can't remember what it's called, but it sits in the plughole. It's metal and it looks like a tea strainer but it hasn't got a handle. It lets the water through but catches the hair. We got it from the local hardware shop, would have thought any DIY shop will sell it.

My better half has long hair and those tea strainer style things work a treat.
When the plug does get blocked I've used caustic soda to unblock it and it dissolves hair (and everything else!) very well.Trying hard to be a good moneysaver.0 -
I can agree with the tea stariner thing. my hair blocked the plughole and i got one of these and its brilliant.0

Can you buy plug hole strainers for showers?
I wash my hair in a shower cubicle, and the plug grating is flush with the floor. I did buy a bath sized strainer, but there's no 'dip' for it to sit in! If anyone knows where I can get a flat strainer, I'd appreciate it as I've got very long hair too. Here I go again on my own....0 -

You can get a perforated cover (supermarkets/cheap pound shops etc) to put over the drain, when bathing/washing hair etc. It stops the hair going down the drain - you just have to remember to take it out and clean out the trapped hair!
From someone with long hair, living with two long haired daughters!0
