are you sure you mean a 28" LCD - I may be wrong, but I don't think you'll get one under £500 - try a John Lewis store - often cheaper than the internet and throw in a free 5 year guarantee and delivery - or Comet online. If you're after a normal tubed telly, theres load of 28" ones about £250 - £300 - I think ebuyer had a Phillips on offer recently.0

Have they seen one in a retailer like comet etc?
If so, track it down and get the model number.
Go to pricerunner, kelkoo, dealtime etc and run the model through.
Bingo, cheaper prices found (generally)

I'd have to echo the John Lewis route, a few years ago i was pricing a tele around the £300 mark, everyone was pretty much the same price, (£20 more £20 less) but the 5 year guarantee is a killer, Dixons wanted £300 for the tele and £200 for the 5 year guarantee, its a no brainer really. Try and get your parents to include the price of a 5yr guarantee in the deal, you should be quids in.Unless it is damaged or discontinued - ignore any discount of over 25%0

Don't buy a 5 year warranty for a TV, they hardly ever go wrong in that period of time.
Hardly ever doesn't mean never of course!:A0 -

Working for a large high street retailer. If you could see the amount of repairs we have had back recently I have to disagree!0 -
The point is that the 5 year warranty for a TV from John Lewis is free, no paperwork just keep your reciept.Unless it is damaged or discontinued - ignore any discount of over 25%0

I went with them today but hadnt read this before hand. I shall get the make and model number. Its a small shop but I do think its a national company. Its called Lords electricals. Anyway I stood there all trying to act shhhh but was loud enough for the sales assiatnt to listen in. Hey presto its prices at £700 I can have it for £500. Nahhh lets see if can get it cheaper. Now do I take the £200 ive saved them already? No cause I wont theyve very good to me my hubby and little girl2007 is my getting slim year
