Bathroom flooring For a complete novice

I need to change the bathroom flooring from carpet to something waterproof. The problem is that I am a complete novice in the DIY front! Can someone recommend an easy to lay and cheap flooring that would be suitable for a bathroom? Also some direction in laying methods would be appreciated as I believe I need to first put a damp proof layer on? (how, what to use) The floor is mainly concrete with strips of wood for access to pipeworks. Thanks....

I'm no handyman but the first job I did in my house was to do the bathroom floor.
I put down a layer of hardboard (just used little nails to hold it down!) and primed it with a waterproof primer, when that was dry I used sticky vinyl tiles, then just used that bathroom squeezy sealant round the bath, loo etc.
Come to think of it I only learned all that from the back of the packet of tiles in B&Q. It probably cost about £50 but I have a pretty big bathroom.
Not very technical but HTH.0 -

I did this in my last place.
I highly recomment it if you have small boys with let's say
"bad aim"as it is easy to rip up and replace.
