Stamp Duty Land Tax Rules
I have been told by a friend that if we were to swap houses with our vendor that we would only have to pay SDLT on the difference. I am selling a 3 bed house at £275k and we are buying at £408k,so we would only have to pay SD on 133k?? Is this right or has that rule been abolished now?

Save, invest or buy?
We are on track to make £150K+ from our house sale and are looking to relocate within the next 12 months. We are fairly flexible as we don't have kids and don't mind renting for a period of time. The easy solution would be to buy another property, but I do think that housing is over-valued at present and wonder if this…
