HOLY BATMAN - Paperwork signed/Survey completed/Mortgage given in 10 minutes

I am GOBSMACKED.

I went into my brokers this morning to what I thought was sign some paperwork for the mortgage.

Within 10 minutes, the forms were completed and the lender had done an "Electronic Survey" and approved the mortgage.

A few more details entered and mortgage was given.

HOOOOORAH

FTB and have to say, I am VERY impressed.

If the solicitors and vendor can be equally as quick.... is a move within 4 weeks on the cards? - LOL

  • That's great.

Give your sol a quick call and ask realistically what they think your move date could be - this will give you an idea (remember, it's an estimate though so don't book the moving van just yet ;))

Doesn't take long does it. Makes you wonder why they are so desperate to lend you all that cash.
  • Electronic survey huh?

are you going to have ahome buyers survey done yourself to check the property?
  • We will be having a Homebuyers survey completed on the property.

The sheer quickness of the lenders was amazing.

No physical survey made it so much quicker.. 10/10 for service so far.
  • Who's your mortgage company then?

I don't understand how you can get a mortgage that way. Didn't you have to produce proof of address and pay slips?

And how can an electronic survey/valuation be done on a property that hasn't been seen.

Sorry I just don't understand. We applied for our mortage a week and a half ago and still no word on any valuations and surveys.
  • We had allready been to see the broker a few days before to furnish him with the relevant ID. He then went looking for a Mortgage for us and called us the next working day to say "Yep, got this mortgage for you" can you come in and sign some paperwork.

Tried to find a link relating to the software/systems used.

Maybe one of the brokers could help?

    The lender was GMAC.

I assume they have software which checks an online database of current/previous house prices in your area to see if yours is worth what your offering.

Im not complaining.... TOP MARKS TO THEM SO FAR FOR THEIR SERVICE.
