Cap include unit and standing charge?
With the increase in gas and electricity does the cap include cost for standing charge? Comparatively the unit price increase is minor vs already ridiculous standing charge - This has doubled! That can’t be right? If infrastructure already in place does it cost x2 to push it down the pipe?

Stick or Twist - Currently on a Deal Until end of September
Hi, I'm watching on currently at the madness in the energy market and kind of happy that I'm on a deal until 28th September, but worried what will happen by then. I've no exit fees, so I'm wondering if I should go for a new (more expensive than my current) deal before then, or ride out my current deal but risk what I move…

Daily Charge rate on Electricity Bill
I was under the impression that the daily charge part of my energy bill was for infrastructure , administartion and transmission costs. How come it is increasing by the the same percentage as the energy power usage? It should not be affected by higher oil and gas prices. DaveL

Avro/Octopus
We were with Avro and just started a switch when Avro went bust. We had over £500 in our Avro account. All Octopus keeps saying is…

Bulb Energy bill delayed by one month as "in draft" being "checked by billing team"
Has anyone else experienced this? We've just submitted our readings to Bulb for March ahead of our billing date which is usually 26th. I went to check the readings against last month's (and to check they'd used my readings, not an estimate). The bill, or statement as they call it, is not there. Go on live chat. "I can see…

Green Network Energy / EDF bill advice
Hi everyone I was a customer of Green Network energy when they went into administration and were taken over by EDF. In July last year I left EDF and signed up with a new supplier. EDF sent me a final bill in August 2021 with a £70 refund - I assumed that this settled the account. Today (23/3/22) I have received another…

Octopus increased electricity usage estimate by factor of around 7
I was switched from Avro to Octopus last year for both gas and electric supplies. Recently I was emailed advising the d/d payment will almost double. This is much more than I expected, so I checked their figures. While the Octopus gas usage estimate is similar to the past, their annual electricity estimate is almost seven…

Smart Meter Confirmed reading high - energy supplier bust, can I get my money back?
Hi, I had a first gen Smart meter installed in 2018, shortly after we moved into the house we are now in, I've always suspected it must be high, but kind of thought can it be, surely these things are tested and calibrated. Old style pre payment meters
Hi Martin said that if you have the old style pre payment electric meters you could put on up to £249 before 31st March and it would be charged at the lower rate. ie : as long as it’s paid for before 31st March you would get it at the cheaper rate even if the electric is being used after. so if you put £249 on the key and…

New build purchase while still renting
I've done a fair bit of reading of other threads on the forum and the common consensus around switching homes is that it's sensible to try and transfer your current tariff. However, I'm in a scenario where I'm going to still have my rental for several months after completion (possibly up to 6) due to my partner's job…
