Bulb Energy bill delayed by one month as "in draft" being "checked by billing team"

Has anyone else experienced this? We've just submitted our readings to Bulb for March ahead of our billing date which is usually 26th. I went to check the readings against last month's (and to check they'd used my readings, not an estimate). The bill, or statement as they call it, is not there. Go on live chat. "I can see the statement we should have produced for you from 26/01-25/02 is currently stuck in draft. This has to be checked over by our billing team before it is accepted and added to your account." ?!

We have had solar panels for 9 years, so our consumption always starts going down about now. Plus we had battery storage installed in December. So I'm guessing we're not using as much as they would expect. We have been asking for a Smart Meter forever, theoretically they are installing one next month so then presumably they'll see the readings are right. PlusI have all our readings so I can work out our consumption myself, but that's not the point. This bill will be over a month late. Are they allowed to do this?

I'm living in fear that they decide to disregard my lower (and correct) consumption figures and apply their own estimate, together with a revised huge direct debit number, just as the rates go sky high. Thanks for any advice.

If they did overcharge you now you'd be buying extra energy at the cheaper rate, so long term if anything you'd end up saving money. Hopefully now you've queried this it will get sorted though.
