Opus Energy
In dispute with Opus, has anyone taken them on recently regarding inflated claims for supply. We recently took over an empty property and they are chasing for money despite us changing supplier!! Any help gratefully received.

Cheaper alternative to heat pumps
If the government switched the green levy to gas electricity should be cheaper so why all the emphasis on expensive heat pumps. Surely an electric combiboiler is a better alternative?

British Gas Refer a Friend voucher not received.
In April this year i switched duel fuels to British Gas using a refer a friend link given to me by a friend. In August realising i had not received the voucher i contacted British Gas who referred me to their 'rewards department'. The rewards department turned out to be a separate company namely Buyapowa who informed me…

Cannot have a smart meter..........
I have a ‘complex' electricity meter (one physical meter with two mpans
or something) due to having storage heaters on the former npower ‘super tariff
system, where the storage heaters had an afternoon boost in addition to the overnight
charging. (There is no mains gas where I live). My housing association last month…

I switched away from Green but have been switched to Shell without my agreement.
How rubbish is this? I switched away from Green to Scottish Power on a reasonable tariff before Green ceased trading and was all set up with an online account and direct debit functioning but now I have been sucked back by Shell Energy as my details are part of the Green customer system. SP say they can't file an Erroneous…

Ofgem Joke
How does Ofgem decide which energy company to dump those customers whose companies have gone bust? I was with Pure Planet. I chose them because I wanted 100 percent gas and electricity from renewables. Ofgem must have been having a laugh by sticking us with Shell of all companies. I want nothing to do with that company and…

Boiler cover
I have boiler cover with Your Repair. We had an engineer out to do the service last week which is included annually and he said he couldn’t do it as the boiler was thick with dirt and hasn’t had a decent service in years. We told him we’ve had boiler cover over 10 years at least and he said yes most do a basic boiler check…

£2.5k for 5 months electricity
I've had nothing but problems with British gas since I moved in back in April. Switched from EDF to British gas gave them meter readings etc. Tried time and time again over the last few months to get them to put me on PAYG meters. They sorted the gas immediately but there was always problems with the electric. Just this…

Average usage and E7 question
Hi I wonder if someone can help me. Our electricity bill is exceedingly high. We live in a 3bed house and the electricity company said the average should be about 4300kwh a year and we are averaging 15000kwh. We don't have a boiler (warm air heating) and our water comes from the cold tank in the loft to a cylinder heater…

Sneaky email from EDF
Yesterday My parents received an email from EDF saying “you next tariff is 1 click away, fix total service oct23v3 and fix until October 23 and get £100 credit” They thought oh I’ll take a look, you click the link and it’s done! No checking terms and conditions! Is this even legal? I’ve never heard of locking yourself into…

Direct debits
Good Afternoon, My energy supplier (Igloo) ceased trading at the end of last month and a new supplier (E-on) has been allocated to me. When I heard Igloo were finished I stopped the direct debit to them. Now they have asked for payment for October. Do I pay? Also, as I have over £300 in credit why can they not take the DD…

Is it warmer than last year?
I have had my heating on since the 1st October and have been averaging 10 kWh less gas daily since then that I was using last year at the same time. The only difference is that I replaced my old 30 year old wooden double glazed windows with new gas filled 20 mm upvc double glazing. Therefor am I saving 10 kWh a day because…

Help with EDF variable rate tariff ... do I switch
Hi I was Green Network Energy which transferred to EDF. The fixed rate has now ended (we were paying £52 - £65 ppm) with Green Network Energy and EDF) and have been put on a variable tariff paying £52 to date. I have just done a comparison with monthly costs now over £140 pcm. My worry is that EDF prices will rise sharply…

Heat Pump Questions
Forgetting about whether the amount of funding available next April is enough, I've a few questions that perhaps those experienced can answer. (1) I know that I could replace my current Gas Combi probably for about £2000-£2500 all in with an in-situ replacement, with no alteration to the pipework or rads etc. Does the…

Loft insulation
I just had a quote for loft insultation. The very nice chap went up into the loft and looked around and videoed the loft with his commentary. The house is about 22 years old, and i have owned for about 18 years. It has the original insulation which has discoloured from pink to grey on the surface through time. I was told…
