In dispute with Opus, has anyone taken them on recently regarding inflated claims for supply. We recently took over an empty property and they are chasing for money despite us changing supplier!! Any help gratefully received.

You have posted in the LPG, Heating Oils , Solid & Other Fuels section.

If you post in the Energy section, which covers electricity and mains gas, you may get more replies.

The board is poorly laid out in this respect and despite several posters asking MSE to change it, nothing has happened

When you moved in, did you take meter readings and contact Opus Energy to set up an account?
When you then switched away, did you take meter readings and provide them to your new supplier?
Do you have records of all this?

  • You will have taken meter readings on the day you took over the property and you will have taken meter readings for your new supplier on or around the day they took over the supply.  Which of these readings is in dispute?

Opus Energy do not supply the domestic market. Is the property which you took over a business premises, or has been in the past? You may have something complicated to disentangle if the property has changed from business to residential. Changing suppliers for a business premises is nothing like changing suppliers for domestic users.
