Worth switching SVRs at this time, or are all SVRs the same (i.e. at the level of the price cap)?
Apologies in advance if this is a bit of a newbie question. I understand that in general the energy price cap is the maximum an energy provider can charge on its SVR for the average customer, and that this is currently set to £1277 (although the exact amount will vary depending on usage, with larger homes with greater…

Igloo Energy Bonus
Along with my credit in account I also have bonus amount for switching and referrals which I "could of" used against my bill. I guess it is unlikely I will see this as it isn't true cash but on the off chance who do I speak to. I notice I can no longer access the bonus page on Igloo.

No joke - EDF Energy are altering my readings and just making them up to my detriment
I only joined late August and have given three readings via the app - every time I do when I go back in they have changed them - to my detriment. I've been back and forth via WhatsApp and then phone. The chap I spoke to said it was indeed unacceptable to falsify my readings, paid me 35 pounds to cover the deficit with my…

Eon vs Eon Next and British Gas vs Evolve
Can anyone tell me the difference between Eon and Eon Next? And between British Gas and Evolve? And whether you can swap from one to the other? When I looked at British Gas, the website seemed to say anyone paying via direct debit would need an account with Evolve... operated by British Gas. Not sure about Eon.

Trying to figure out usage
I have a bill from September 2020 and one from 2021. Can anyone tell me how I could work out how much in KwH I used in the last year? The bill says how much I used from August to September but that won't help me work out an average over the year as that's a summer month. I thought I could use the meter readings but that…

Massive electric usage
Hi I have just checked my monthly bill for electricity to find that my normal usage of 200 300 units it’s now over 5500 for the month. In a complete panic called my supplier to inform them this can’t be right. I’ve bought nothing new and had no issues. They are checking my meter at my cost if it’s fine. Just checked today…

Eon Next taking over our Symbio Supply
Just got the email confirming Eon Next is taking over our Symbio accounts. No prices as yet BUT a postcode search shows some tariffs.......... Strangely, they list the same tariff twice - NextFlex - but with different rates (we are electric only) Electric Unit = 21.61p Daily Charge = 25.66p and Electric Unit = 22.76p Daily…

Moving house in a gas crisis...?
Hi! We are due to complete on a new house this month which is due for a full renovation over the winter (we won't be living there). I will be trying to keep the heating off as much as possible without letting the house get too cold, though I haven't quite figured out the best way of doing that yet. My main question is…

Smart meter installed and now one or more circuits dead
An engineer is at my Mum's house at the moment, installing smart meters (my Mum is 96). He has just phoned me to say that some of the electrical sockets are now dead (including the one used by the fridge/freezer). He's saying that she needs to get an electrician out to look at it. Should I expect this guy to fix this, as…

Eon - To Fix at high rate or roll onto their 'Energy Plan'..
Annoyingly my switch date is 29/10/21, my tariff has almost doubled the same as everyone else's and I missed out on Eon's V10 tariff received by email this morning which was quickly withdrawn with the percentage price hike & news reporting today. I'm really not sure what to do here, below is the estimated annual charges…

Renew So energy fixed tariff?
I have a few days to renew my fixed tariff with so energy, I only use electricity with them and no gas ( I have oil fired central heating) … they have quoted £84 per month. I currently pay £32 for summer rates and £55 for winter which they say evens itself out over a year… do I go for it?

CEC
HI,From CEC, Here are the key need-to-knows to explain why: * There are no switchable deals meaningfully cheaper than the price cap. We are in the perverse situation where there is nothing meaningfully cheaper than the default price you go to when a deal ends (or if you've never switched). Even though the regulator’s price…

Standard Variable Tariff(SVT)
I think most of us are aware that on 01 Oct 2021 that the
capped SVT increased to £1277pa. That is below the cost of current wholesale prices, however some firms had placed 'future contracts'. But it seems highly likely that the capped SVT will be increased considerably in April next year. There has been considerable…

Cancel DD?
Hi, I switched with MSE to Igloo just over a month ago and now of course they've gone bust. I paid a Direct Debit of £240 a couple of weeks ago. There is no bill in my account and this amount just shows as a credit. But I have a DD lined up for a couple of weeks time and I'm wondering whether I should cancel it. Now…

Variable or Fixed?
Apologies if this has been asked before, I'm a bit late to the party on this one. My current deal has come to an end and I have done a search and I can have a variable deal for £1440 or a fixed for £1842 - £400 more per year. My question is, given the uncertainty of energy prices is it worth paying in the extra £400?

Omni energy
Any omni customers? bern with them a while. No issues. Got an email last night saying they were ceasing trading in November and I should change suppliers asap. Then a few hours later another email saying welcome to Scottish power. So I assume omni have handed their customers over to Scottish power. But can’t see anything…

Igloo just deducted a months worth of energy from my credit after going bust?
So after Igloo went bust, I was £256 in credit with them, they asked me to submit a meter reading as they've done with all customers. They promptly then generated a new bill and deducted £69 from my credit for the last months usage. I don't know really about this, but should that be happening if they've gone bust? I…

Smart meter readings.
For interest only. I had gas and electricity smart meters fitted some months
ago. Recently my house was unoccupied for 8 days and I turned off the gas at
the mains. I thought it would be interesting to see how much
electricity had been used over that period as it would give an idea of the ‘standing
consumption’ for…
