Any omni customers?

bern with them a while. No issues. Got an email last night saying they were ceasing trading in November and I should change suppliers asap.

Then a few hours later another email saying welcome to Scottish power.

So I assume omni have handed their customers over to Scottish power. But can’t see anything about omni ceasing to trade.

I assume it’s pointless changing to a company of my choosing right now? Am I best to just stay with Scottish power until things settle with energy prices?

Personally, and assuming no pressing need to switch or an imminent house move, I'd wait and see what SP offers.

Something is not quite right here. Omni Energy's website; Facebook accounts etc are still up and running and there is nothing to indicate a pending supplier failure or buyout on the Ofgem website or other sites such as Utility Week. Personally, I would not provide 'Scottish Power' with any bank details etc until you are 100% sure that what you are being told is accurate.

PS And the website is still providing quotes and offering switches.

Yeah I thought the same. I’m a pre pay customer so won’t be giving any details at all until I know it’s omni. I’ll give them a call and see what they say.

I just thought it was odd that they said yeah we’re closing change suppliers but then didn’t give me the option to actually do that.

Just been on chat and they’ve confirmed omni will cease trading by end of November. So email is from omni.

Don’t particularly want to stay with Scottish power. But no decent options to change to yet so may as well.

Although the cheap energy club has ebico living as vastly cheaper. I won’t switch though as the smaller suppliers seem to sadly be dropping like flies.

Ebico Living is not a supplier in its own right. It is a ‘white label’ supplier of Octopus Energy. It follows that if you sign up to Ebico Living then Octopus will supply you; bill you and provide customer services.

I just don’t get how they can be so cheap right now so not sure if it’s worth taking the chance and signing up.

I suspect the tariff you are seeing is probably no longer available.

A quick look at their website shows tariffs comparable to most others still available at the moment...

When I get a quote on the website it’s still showing the tariff cheap energy club advertised.

The only tariff I get offered at https://living.ebico.org.uk/ is "Ebico Prime 12 Saver" with electricity at 25.8720p/kWh and gas at 6.6675p/kWh, both well above the Ofgem cap.

    That's for credit metered customers.

PPM customers (which Omni specialised in) are offered

    Ebico Prepayment April 2021 v1

    Rough costs look like :
    Electricity: 16p /Kwh & 26ppd
    Gas: 2.9p / kWh & 31ppd

As Dolor has correctly pointed out, it is supplied by Octopus Energy.
