Bulb wants to put in a smart meter
Got an email from Bulb saying they are upgrading their meters and to book a date for installation. They make it sound like a done deal. I don't want a smart meter - not with Bulb anyway. Can they insist? I'm on E7. Plus we have a poor mobile signal here and the neighbours next door have been told by their supplier that…

metric gas meter reading being billed as imperial
My gas meter is metric, but every time I change supplier they always bill reading as imperial, always takes months to persuade them, with hours of explanations, photos of meter, etc. etc. Is there a central meter register that can be amended, and if so, can I have it amended myself?

So Energy MSE Newsletter / Energy Club
Hi, Just switched to So Energy - So Carrot Essential v2 via the MSE Newsletter. It stated that there would be a £57 payment on the second billing period. I noticed the welcome pack from So Energy makes absolutely no mention of this discount? Should I be worried? Thanks.

Massive bill credit due to misread meter
Hello we recently had smart meters installed and of course the engineer took the closing meter readings from the old meters and submitted them to the energy company. But it looks like he misread the meter by 6000 units and now we have received a credit on our bill of about £900. I am amazed that the company accepted a…

Credit on pre payment meter, final bill due?
In January I contacted E-on to close my mums account as she had passed away. She had pre payment meters installed for both her gas and electric. They were both in credit by about £40 when we closed the account. I received a letter from the electricity team saying they owe a refund. However today I have received a final gas…

No Boiler, never had one - Any grant help?
HI. Older relative hasn't been well. We've discovered he doesn't have a heating boiler. He lives in a flat and only has a single gas fire in the lounge for heating (don't know how we never noticed but he's not someone we see often) He's home from hospital and probably needs some help. I can find plenty of info about…

Is it worth exchanging my Economy 7 meter for a single rate one?
I have just bought a house with an Eco7 electric meter, but no storage heaters - it has gas central heating with a hot water tank in the bedroom. Shell Energy, who I am currently switching to, have said they can replace it with a single rate one free of charge, is it worth doing this do people think?

EDF contingency % increase to spike Direct Debit
This is a heads up for all EDF customers on monthly Direct

for energy consumption contingency when calculating your Direct Debit. I am one
of those people that…

EON Back billing issue (PrePayment)
Hi, Looking for and appreciate any advice in dealing with EON and back billing issue. My elderly parents moved home in Oct 2019 and closed their account with EON, prior to that they had been on a prepayment meter for approximately 30 years, well aware that they were paying more than they could be but liked the fact that…

BG PAYG Moving
I’m with BG on PAYG. I always tend to have a reasonable amount of credit built up as a backup. I’m also due my WHD £140 voucher. My building of flats is been demolished and I have to move. Once a find somewhere suitable to move. If I add that voucher when I get it my credit will be in the hundreds of pounds. Can I claim…

First or second generation smart meters.
Forgive me if this Q. has been asked but how can I ensure that I'm getting a second generation smart meter? I have heard that first generation meters with added software are being given to unsuspecting customers although this shouldn't be happening. Are there specific dates on these generators or numbers that will indicate…

Air Source Heat Pump system
Hi, We had a Air Source Heat Pump system installed just over 2 years ago and regularly have it serviced (annually). My energy provider used to be a non descript company whom we had loads of problems with and then we switched to Scottish Power, who again we had nothing but problems with. I’ve just recently switched to…

Supplier switching and smart meters
Hi everyone, I'm after some advice please! The end of my contract with E.on is coming up (dual energy) so I'm looking at switching suppliers through Uswitch. Sadly however, it seems like all available tariffs are higher than what I am currently on, so I won't be making any savings. It seems my DD will go up with…

Feed in Tariff & Smart Meters
I had a 4KW solar system installed 10 years ago, it is working well. The question i have, is i was one of the last very lucky ones to get on the very high Feed in Tariff, which gives me approx 0.53p/KwH for 50% of the Electricity i generate & 0.56p/KwH for the other 50%, so as you can see i am on a good thing. However my…
