Which electric energy supplier?
I am currently with Bulb on their 'vari-fair' tarrif, however there is no economy 7 option, which I would now like (unless I have a 'smart' meter, which I do not want). I have used the comparison sites and some of the offereings from Symbio and E-On look good, however, when I start to read the reviews about how awful their…

I’ve recently moved into a flat with pre payment meters. They are supplied via ovo energy and their sub company Boost. Currently I have to go to the local shop to top up the gas/electric. So I was considering upgrading to smart meters/update online. To do this I have to open an account but I can’t do it online and I’m…

Boiler making growling noises - no boiler cover
Hi :) I have a boiler that hasn't been serviced since 2017 and I have neglected to take out a boiler service plan (I know, stupid of me!). Recently, the boiler has started making a sort of intermittent ‘growling’ sound whenever it’s fired up. No other issues, but don’t want to ignore it I’m wondering what the most cost…

How to find "no standing charge" gas and electricity tariffs
We have a 'second home' (a flat in town) - originally occupied by now-deceased parents. We visit it only rarely, and now under Covid restrictions, scarcely at all.The dual fuel energy supply, which we have not changed since taking over the flat, is the EDF 'deemed' tariff (currently paid in response to quarterly bills).…

EDF - Unable to get through - anyone else?
I need to speak to EDF about a metering problem with my account, but since Friday, everytime I have called them, I have been placed in a queue for over 10 minutes and have then been cut off. Sub-meter in rental property
I have recently moved into a new rental property which is a flat in a small block of 4. The energy is provided via prepay meters in each of the flats. During the viewing, all I was told was that the flat had a prepay meter and that I could top-up via an app. Upon moving in, as normal, I asked the landlord for the details…

So make sure you know your current costs before committing. Also be prepared…

Reclaiming a paid back bill?
I had an invoice from my old electricity supplier (that I had left 18 months earlier and that had been taken over by another company) and I reluctantly paid the bill (nearly £1000).
