The gas installer had set it at 75 degrees and water 60. I had to turn water down to 50 it was too hot. Is it economical to have boiler 75 it seems high.
Thanks guys

60 degrees for water is the recommended minimum for hot water, this is to ensure that any bacteria is killed.0

Depends on the boiler system.
60 degrees is recommended as a minimum for stored water to prevent legionella. No need with a combi as the water is always freshly drawn from the mains and isn't stored.
I agree 75 for the heating is high. Start it lower (60ish) and increase until you are happy with the heating level in the room.1 -
Mine is on an "eco" setting for rads and works fine, the boiler just shows 62d for heat and water. The water is very hot.... VERY! when the rads are on for more than two hours. I often worry about the cylinder blowing up. It is recent too. But I have to stop worrying about how hot the water is, and get on with it. 75 sounds quite high though so you could try lower it bit by bit, but 60+ is recommended for water as mentioned above. Best of luck.1

The guy who installed by CH combi recently recorded (in the installation booklet) the CH flow temperature as 72 degrees and return temp as 64 degrees. Also, hot water temp at all outlets as 51 degrees. All working fine for me.
By the way, my boiler also has an eco setting but when set, this stops the boiler constantly keeping itself warm so that it can provide hot water a bit quicker. I'm finding it fine with eco set to 'on' and it's obviously cheaper that way. In my case, the eco setting has nothing to do with the central heating - or at least, it has only a minimal effect on it.1
