Eon took on my supply around the 21/10. I switched from edf. I am awaiting for a final bill from edf. EDF say they are waiting for a eletricity reading from EOn which i supplied. EDF are saying they have sent this. Therefore, how do i or they resolve this?

It takes up to six weeks, so there's still quite a while to go. The delay may be due to the mysterious third party that dreams up meter readings for you if they don't like the ones you have provided.0

Good afternoon WelshGlyndwr, hope you're well.WelshGlyndwr said:Eon took on my supply around the 21/10. I switched from edf. I am awaiting for a final bill from edf. Not loads to add from me really just wanted to confirm that it does indeed take up to 6 weeks for your final bill to be produced.
The start readings you provided to us are sent over to the other supplier within the first week or so of your account, they do have to be validated by third parties on the way.
Whilst we say to allow up to 6 weeks it is usually quicker than this. Please allow until the 2nd or 3rd of December and get in touch at this stage if you still haven't heard so we can investigate.
Thanks, Matt

It seems the mysterious third parties are the supplier's data collectors.0

All suppliers use data collectors to validate meter readings against the past history for a property. (In some cases, this goes back 70 years). The 'problem' with energy switches is that whilst some people will take a meter reading on the actual day of transfer, many will not or will be unable to do so. Some people will misread their meters: particularly, if they have one with dials rather than digits. Finally, when a consumer moves to a more expensive tariff, many people under report their meter readings in an attempt to save a few £s.Deleted User said:It seems the mysterious third parties are the supplier's data collectors.
