Eon account after bereavement?
If the named account holder and DD.bill payer passes away is it as easy as switching the named account holder and the DD payment to the remaining occupier obviously with their consent? Then keeping the same contract and tariff and credit/debit in the account. Thank you.

Eon Solar Panel FiT tariff transfer
Need advice and would really appreciate an Eon representative to respond. We are shortly completing on a property which has solar panels under an Eon FiT contract. We have been unable to obtain an Eon FiT tariff transfer because of health issues with the previous occupier. I'm guessing this is not an unusual problem and…

Help with Boiler Issue
Good Evening all, I live in rented accomodation. The boiler here is quite old. It is a Ferroli Modena 80E. The issue i have, is that if i turn the central heating on, this seems to cut out when a tap is turned on elsewhere in the house. Is this normal? I know nothing about plumbing. thanks!

Low Gas Use / Standing Charge / £500 Reconnection!
OK So I'm an incredibly low gas user, I've used just one unit over the last year! I only use gas for my hob. I am currently with EBICO and have been on their Zero Green Fixed V2 tariff with no standing charge for gas. They have now implemented a minimum usage charge on all of their tariffs irrespective of how much gas I…

Energy Club
My energy supplier for the past 12 months is now due for renewal so I've checked on the Energy Club for a new supplier but seem to be blocked. I've chosen a new supplier but when I try to click onto it it's coming up with 'Switch in Progress' it seems as though the supplier for the last 12 months didn't inform the club…

Help
I operate an dual fuel account for an old family friend who is not computer literate. The company I had her accounts with was ENSTROGA. 3 times in last 12 months I have had to complain to the energy Ombudsman about poor customer service on each occasion the Ombudsman has found in our favour. I have now moved her to another…

Comparing on MSE
Hi all I'm desperate to switch suppliers but how do I know which is a more accurate comparison to use on the MSE site please? According to my supplier I used 1757 KWh electricity (£604.88) last year but in reality I fed £900 (approx) into the PAYG meter. Why is there such a big difference and why? Thanks

Worcester Bosch 30I Combi boiler pressure
Hi, So this isn't a post about a fault with the boiler. It's brand new, literally less than a week old and functioning fine. As it's a new boiler installed into an older heating system I expected some pressure loss and will keep an eye on it. After the first 4 days or so I checked it, to find it had fallen a little, gauge…

In debit with energy supplier
I am looking to move from EDF energy as their rates seem surprisingly high compared to others. I have checked my account and submitted latest meter readings and see that I am currently in Debit to them of £364. How does it work changing supplier? Do i need to pay this lump sum before moving?

Compare TM
After 10 years with same supplier, I am searching anew Gas/Electric. I am told by CTM that the calculations are based on similar properties, EG next door (Same type of properties) goes to work 9-5 but I am retired (therefore I use more). The savings is because I use what she uses £73). that gives me a lower value per month…

Meter check only?
Hello everyone I did my first switch around 6 months ago (from EDF to Shell Energy). It went fine, I’m saving money and I’ve found Shell really helpful if I’ve needed to phone (OAP here and struggle a wee bit sometimes with some of the online technology). So far, I’ve kept to my old pattern of inputting my gas and…

Smart Thermostats and existing boiler
I have a fairly old boiler, it's a Glow Worm 30cxi. By old, i'm thinking 10-15 years old. We moved in 5 years ago. On the wall is a British Gas WR1 which is wired to the boiler and receives signals from a British Gas RCPlus wireless device that we can use to set the temperature at set times of the day etc. I would like the…

SCOTTISH POWER - Worst ever What is the current compensation for loss of leccie?
We recently had a failed Scottish Power white meter and took them 7 days to fix it and we were without leccie for those 7 days and we are on the so called "priority services register" with a blind and disabled person living here so we eventually had to go to a hotel - told we are due no compensation! Apparently Scottish…

Grants for insulating non-cavity external walls
Anyone know if it's possible to get a grant (someone on UC) for a wall that's not got a cavity? Social housing neighbours have cladding, but it's totally unaffordable without some sort of help! It's possible to get help spraying cavity wall and loft insulation but can't it also apply to these buildings? Seems they're in…

Upgrading from u6 to u16 gas meter
Hi, I am planning refurbishment which means I will need to upgrade to a u16 meter. My gas company sent off for a GT1 test and unfortunately, I will need to upgrade the gas service supply as it is not large enough. Can anyone tell me what actually happens when the works carry out and how long it will typically take? What…

Prepayment to Credit Meter
Hi I am moving into a new property which has used a prepayment meter. I assume therefore that changing to a credit meter now means I have the whole of the market to choose from? But who do I go with? How do I start when I can't compare ? Any help of suggestions would be appreciated. The new property is a 3 bed terrace in…

Worcester Bosch 32CDi Compact Condensing Combi Boiler questions
Hi, I had this boiler installed last year so yeah I would say its a modern boiler. So far no problems with it. The questions are: - Shall I assume modern boilers are like modern car engines where annually it needs to be mechanically serviced like replacing filters/pumps/parts as well as cleaning maintaining some parts too?…
