87 day gas bill 434 pound !!!
Hi All, This is a first for me getting a bill for this much.. I am not sure how to tackle handling SSE with this but have tried to reason with them that there is no way we use 10 units of gas a day.. (889 units in 87 days?) Ive read the meter daily and we are using 2-3 units.. nothing has changed with our heating settings/…

Pay via Variable Direct Debit
Hi Can someone please advise me if an energy supplier can refuse to allow me to pay bill via variable direct debit? Is it legal for them? I was with First Utility who gave me option to supply meter reading every month via their App and pay the exact bill amount via direct debit. Now I am switching because First Utility are…

How much does EO charge the supplier?
As a matter of interest, anyone tell me how much the ombudsman would charge one of the big 6 suppliers to review a complaint worth 450? Do they still charge them even if they rule in the suppliers favour?

My parent's who do not use a computer but do have an email address have been unable to get British Gas to send them their Home care agreement by post - three times they have phoned and three times it's been sent again by Email and not by Post. Should they quit? They never actually gave British Gas their email by the way -…

Does a newly installed meter always start at zero?
I recently had my meter replaced. Stupidly, I didn't check the start readings because I assumed it would start at 0. The meter is a "dumb" meter with an electronic display, with a button to cycle through the total, day, and night usage. The display is five digits with no decimals. My supplier has just updated my account…

Towel rail running cost - CH vs Element
Assuming that the gas Central Heating side is off and only the Hot Water side is active, heating the bathroom towel rail on its circuit via the HW cylinder, is it cheaper to run the towel rail that way or to fit an element into same towel rail for summer use? Don't actually need the HW- just on to heat the rail.

Going to switch but owed money?
Quick question really. As OVO owes me money and if I switch to someone else, can I chased them for them cash?
-
Bloody OVO, to hell with them!
This is a bit long but bare with me. So last March I signed up to OVO Energy for their Simpler Energy (that electricity only) £59 per month plan after filling in their online form 4 times to make sure I got it right as £59pm seemed way too cheap & calling them to confirm. After 6 months they started talking a lot more than…

I’ve got a credit balance of about £100 over both fuels - hustvrwnf ans asked for it to be returned and they’ve said it all gets passed to a third party thanks to government legislation to ensure final bills are correct? Never heard of this before so trying to check…

EDF Monthly
Hi I would welcome some advise from customers of EDF on monthly DD. I've been used to quarterly DD where they remind you to send a reading in quarterly and then provide a bill for what has been used. It was so much hassle switching this time, I decided to stay on monthly DD (gas) (worked out I would loose less than £2 in…

EPCs
We are in the process of getting an EPC for a property that we own. Looking at filed EPCs for identical properties built at the same time, the EPC shows a rating and a potential rating. For example, C/64 with the potential to increase by 11 points to C/75. The bit that I am struggling to get my mind around is the list of…

Going to the energy ombudsman, quick question
I've an ongoing complaint about my electricity account with my supplier for the last several months. On Monday they've sent their latest reply saying they are not willing to fix their error and my request is essentially being refused. So I assume I will be able to go forward to the energy ombudsman to review the complaint.…
