Smart Meters stop working when you switch supplier
Do other readers realise that if they’ve had Smart Meters installed, and then they switch suppliers, the Smart Meters will stop working..? With so much money being spent on installing these (and the bill will be passed on to consumers by some means as they’re not really ‘free’) to supposedly save money in the long run, why…

Any reason why avro energy has totally disappeared from my energy club resullts?

HELP!! How to manually read a british gas smart meter
HI, I am looking to switch supplier as my Collective Switch deal with British Gas is ending. My possible new supplier has said they can't connect to the smart meter but I can switch and just provide manual readings. I have no clue how to do this and can't find any instructions anywhere. Had the smart meter fitted earlier…

Cooperative Energy has removed its Feb 2018 Tariff a week before customers on their Online March 2017 Tariff reach the 50 day point where they can switch w/out losing £30 per fuel and replaced it with an April 2018 tariff which costs <>5% more..convenient timing for them

Affect Energy
Anyone else heard of these? I was on the MSE September paperless tariff with Eon and decided to split gas and electric as I heard it might be cheaper. I went with Affect for my electric supply and Zog for gas. I am saving approximately £30/month from my payments last year.

Iresa : Does anyone know if this company do a hard credit check?
Although my credit score is 999 with Experian, a credit check last year by British gas stuffed me up and stopped me getting credit elsewhere for 6 months. Does anyone know if IRESA does a hard credit check. My MSE British gas fixed collective is coming to an end so need to change. Thanks

Unable to Switch Energy Suppliers
I am with Scottish Power and applied for the Warm Home discount worth £140 under the broader group rebate scheme as I am on benefits and disabled. My fixed tariff ended om 31 January 2016 so I assume I revert to Standard Tariff however I cannot switch until the rebate is paid which can be anytime up to end of May 2017. Has…

In debt due to fixed tariff
Please can you help? I've been reviewing my mother's account with Scottish Power. She was on a fixed tariff which ended June 2016 and has since been on standard tariff. In the interim she has racked up a £650 debt. Scottish Power had an incorrect email for her, and despite her account being 'paper billing' she has had no…

Time to Fix?
With Npower raising electricity prices by 15% and gas prices by 4.8% from 16th March it looks like time to find a fixed deal that lasts for more than a year perhaps. I am on the collective British Gas deal ending this month and with no new collective in sight I have checked EDF fix till Feb 18 and British Gas fix till…

ScottishPower Power Up -- huge rip-off
Because I'm an idiot I decided to switch my ScottishPower tariff to their new Power Up scheme. I did a Google search beforehand but couldn't find any user reviews. Hopefully people in the future will find this thread. (The app which you have to use does have reviews. Suspiciously they are all five star reviews and sound…

EnergyHelpLine have removed details of tariffs they are unable to switch you to
Many regular readers will know that I have often used EnergyHelpLine as my comparison site of choice. I have just attempted to conduct a price comparison and it seems that EHL in their wisdom have now removed tariff details of those tariffs that they are unable to switch you to (i.e. the ones they don't get paid for!) To…

Npower average 10% price rise (March 16th)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-38852517 Doesn't seem like very much notice. Get your fixes in now... PS. the next big collective result is announced on the 14th and on the off-chance that it beats the best current fixes that date would be within the 14-day cooling off period if you fix today. ( this is one website…

All-Electric daily unit averages
Hi I recently moved into an all electric flat with the dreaded panel heater/economy 7 set up, so I'm trying to be sparing until I can replace the panel heaters for smart storage ones. I have lived in all electric before but not with this set up, so hoping to compare my averages with others in all-electric with…

How should I heat my flat?
I’ve paid the admin fee to an agent for a flat so I’m waiting to be accepted as a private tenant. The flat is modern and tidy with a gas supply to the outside wall but no heating inside apart from an electric fire on the wall of the living room. There are three rooms: living room, bedroom, small kitchen. I live on housing…

British gas trying to get me to have new meter
I keep getting phone calls from British gas asking to install a new meter. I suspect a smart meter. Having already had a new meter installed about 4 years ago when I was with another supplier I feel this is unnecessary. Besides, I do not want a smart meter. Am I within my rights to refuse ?

British Gas refusing to install smart meter
Assuming it's because they're trying to save a few quid, but does anyone know definitively why British Gas are refusing to install a smart meter on a "Independant Gas Transportation" pipe (IGT). Basically the house is a new build and Miller homes got a third party to install the pipes on the cheap rather than getting…

Best and worst energy companies
Some interesting results in the Which 2016 survey. Ovo gets the best rating for the second year running with a score of 78%. The best of the big 6 is EON with a score of 57%. I used to think price was everything but I am now prepared to pay a little more for a company that provides good customer service as well as a…
