I am very confused regarding the latest bill I've had from Scottish Power. The figures on the bill don't match with those on my online account. I'm not sure whether the query anything with them so wanted to see if there are any energy experts here. Unfortunately I can't post a quick pic of the bills but they look like…

Prepayment meters in inherited, currently unoccupied property. Best tariff?
I have recently inherited a property in which there is a BG prepayment meter and a Swalec prepayment meter. As the property is currently unoccupied, can anyone suggest a tariff that would be suitable? I am hoping to let the property after Christmas. Thank you for your time.

Advice please on high electricity rate
Hello, any advice would be much appreciated. I phoned my electricity supplier this evening to enquire about my account balance, I've realised I'm paying a very high rate and when I raised this I was offered a rate of almost half the price! Im furious and confused - how could they have been able to charge me this high rate…

Erroneous Transfers
Could someone with industry knowledge please answer the following question: Is the transfer of an electricity supply to someone who is not the customer an "erroneous transfer". Power flush quote from Vaillant
Hi all. We lost our hot water a few weeks back and called out a boiler engineer. The first guy who came told us that we needed a Vaillant specialist so we ended up calling out Vaillant directly (we'd already wasted a week and a half with someone who couldn't help us so wanted to ensure it got sorted quickly). The guy who…

My electricity usage has suddenly doubled!
Hi, bit of background: I live in a 3 bed semi detached house with gas central heating and DHW, everything else is electricity. I've lived here about one year. I've fairly routinely read both the gas and electricity meters on average once every month or so since I moved in. I've submitted a read yesterday and was shocked to…

Switching from SSE to OVO
At the end of June, we moved into our new house. I took the meter readings and made an immediate application to move the supply to OVO. When OVO told us to, we read the meters again. Meanwhile, SSE sent us a bill. The readings they quoted were way above our actual meter readings, so I amended them and sent the proper…

Want to move electricity meter
I want to get our electricity meter changed for an outside meter. I would also like to change our fuse box for a modern trip switch fuse box, as the one we currently have is the old-fashioned kind with bits of wire that are supposed to melt if there's an overload. I would also quite like to get the house re-wired as there…

Ovo smart meter
Hi, I have recently moved to OVO from Scottish power for both my electricity & gas and have been asked by them if I would like to have a free Smart Meter fitted. I have no apprehension as to whether 'Big Brother' will be watching over me or anything like that. I am quite keen on having a smart meter I think it's quite…

Gas/electricity suppliers who update DD's frequently
Can anyone recommend me an energy company who provide frequent opportunities to update your direct debit to match consumption? I seem to remember Scottish Power had a decent online account system that kept track of usage if you provided regular meter readings, and updated our DD accordingly, but I'm not sure they would be…

Npower deciding to send bills again
We left Npower 15 months ago and received and payed our final gas and electric bills as instructed. Easily sorted so we thought. They have now decided that they got things wrong and that they want a further 140 odd pounds from us for electric that is showing up as being accounted for in one statement but was refunded along…

Getting Solar PV soon, worth changing supplier before or to wait?
I've just moved into a new (for me) house and am on a 'Deemed Contract' with nPower. I've ended up foisted on one of thise before so I'm going to get off it ASAP, but I'm also getting Solar PV installed very soon.
