Help with complaint to Eon
I have an unresolved issue with Eon after some misleading advice given by the resolutions team. Does anyone know a really good representative I can contact? Or where I can go to above this team to complain and resolve? My issue is about the misleading advice and very poor customer service. I am getting no help and am being…

Moving house, should I switch
Hi, I've just come on to EDF's standard tariff - ouch! Thing is I'll be moving house in about 6-8 weeks. If I switch to a cheaper tariff can I take it with me to my new house or will I just end up with penalties for leaving in a couple of months? thanks

How do they get away with it?
I have just switched out of EDF. Prior to leaving, I was paying about £750 pa for gas and electricity. We have PV Solar and a wood-burning stove. This has just appeared on my final bill: Over the next 12 months Gas personal projection: £889.34 This calculation uses a mix of UK typical consumption (3,200kWh electricity and…

NPower - are these people for real?
Thankfully I'm not with NPower (with EDF) but my son is. He's been with them for over two years, since he left home, and it's been a total nightmare. I won't go into details, apart from the latest debacle. When he returned home after a a couple of weeks away there were three NPower letters waiting for him: 1) Helping you…

prepayment meter
Hi, I moved into a new house three weeks ago, and I assumed that it had a credit meter, so on the first day at my new house, I went onto uswitch and choose to switch from British Gas to OVO energy. Who then said I would be switched over by the 30th May. All things seemed good, but then by the end of day two at the new…

Scottish Power's latest money-maker
Why hasn't anyone else thought of this? You simply set the START meter reading of the latest energy bill to a much lower reading than the END meter reading of the previous bill and - hey presto - the customer gets billed for the same (in my case, over £50sworth of) gas TWICE :T Ah, perhaps someone else has already thought…

Complaints Question - can you complain if Npower say complaint has been closed?
Hello, Last December I received a bill from Npower for over £2000. I thought I had left Npower a year prior to that, but it turns out my account did not switch, but none told me. (My electricity did switch and the new company were taking my DD each month, so I had no reason to believe I wasn't paying for my gas as it would…

Boiler Cover?
Hi all, not sure if I am in the right place but I ws hoping for some personal reviews in which boiler/heating cover to have. We have been with British Gas for over 20 years and the price has gone up and up over the years while the customer service has gone down and down. This year my renewal was set to go up by nearly £50…

E-on Refund!!
Hi all, not posted for a while, however I got this letter from E-on saying SORRY! The letter went like this: In December 2012 we wrote to tell you that our prices were increasing. Shortly after that you told us you were changing supplier. As you contacted us while we were going through a price increase we should have made…

e-on my constantly high monthly bill
hey guys i'm currently signed up on a direct debit with e-on and each monthly bill is a set rate of £80 or more.. "if i use under, would i be entitled to a lower bill?" The set £80 p/month is all they would offer me. personally i think £80 a month is still way too high for my 1 bed flat, whereas my friends who have 3…

BT over estimated energy when moving in now want another reading
So I moved into a property and BT (edit: British Gas) overestimated the gas and electricity reading. I assume they over estimated the amount that the previous had to pay. Their bad luck. I gave them a reading after living there for a month and a half and it's under what reading they had for the date when I moved in. So I…

FirstUtility cheap ... but bad reviews
My current gas / electric supplier is Scottish Power, but the deal I am on will finish at the end of this month. I was going to switch a few weeks ago, but thought better just to wait until June 1st. Today I received an email from the MSE site, a site I have always trusted above any other site. However, when I did a quick…

leaving first utility takes a year+
In April 2012, after consulting this site for the best duel fuel switch I could get, I switched to First Utility on a fixed rate tariff. About a year later they put their prices up so I switched again to EDF. The electricity switched a couple of weeks before the gas which was finally switched a year ago next week. I paid…

Energy switch delays
Continually being told to switch suppliers to save money. I have been trying to change from Scottish Power to OVO but starting to wish I hadn't! Instead of taking over dual fuel they forgot to request gas transfer. Now quoting 10 weeks because of independent gas transporter (which is rubbish as I have checked with them).…

Energy monitor not matching meter reading
Hi I have recently put in an electricity monitor from owl to check my usage as i am now paying £220 a month for a 2 bed flat. In the last 24 hours my monitor states that I have used 7 units but my meter reading shows 15. Has anyone else experienced such variances? I know they are not 100% accurate but this is WAY out.…
