Haha the gangsters, I like it! It takes around 4-6 weeks for a supply change to be fully complete, which would take you up to the end of June / beginning of July.

From what I remember, the tariff you're on had an early exit fee. I'd give it a week then go for the switch, can't get any worse than bill blocks and over pricing.

gangsters is what I could call someone that goes into your bank account and helps themselves without prior written notice.

how is it determined when you are stopped billed by one company and another company takes over?

If I start today can I nominate that 1 july is when I want to switch? Do I contact the company I want and advise them and they look after it?

I couldn't wait to leave the sharks. After 5 months they still failed to set up a Direct Debit despite numerous contacts from me. One good thing tho'. It meant I left them whilst owing them money. They had to wait 4 months for it. Petty I know but I had a smutty satisfaction.

There's no need to wait. You have the opportunity on the MSE Energy Club switching page to say the date from which you want to switch.

My recent experience may explain my assertion. My deal with power was due to finish at the end of May and I secure messaged them at the end of April to request a move to a different tariff from the day following the end of my current deal. This is something I have done twice before on my own account and once for my Mother's. Unfortunately this time I got one of the people dealing with my query who does not value their role in Customer Service and does not understand the name of the role. They said I had to wait until the deal had finished before asking to switch (not true) so I moved to Ovo with effect from 4th June. My point is that it took five weeks to finalise the switch so you would need to act now to be away by the end of June or just after.

I also suggest you do a meter reading today (1st June), again on the last day of your current deal and again on your leaving date (which your new supplier will confirm). This should enable you to avoid over or under paying or dealing with estimated bills after you want to be away.

    Best of luck.
