Two rate white meter
Hi, I'm a bit worried our day and night readings may have been mixed up. I've been with Scottish power for 14 months and input my meter readings every 12-15 weeks. They increased our direct debit from £55 a month to £102 last August as we were in debit. I've copied and pasted the current readings from the Enter Meter…

Furious at N Power
I switched to N Power last March but looking at my emails the contract may have started at the beginning of June. I have been paying £75 a month gas/ electricity and received a letter off them Saturday to say they are upping my payment to £135! I have compared my current meter readings with the estimated ones on the bill…

Worcester Bosh 12Ri performance
When I had the boiler installed 3 months ago it worked without any disturbing noises, but WB acredited installer had to come back and do a second power flush after which the fan started buzzing for the first couple seconds and some clunking intermittent noise is audible in the boiler while it is operating. The WB…

I had nt used much gas for years and they kept sending me letters for standing charge money that i owed them, they did that for about 4 years saying we would get a court warrant and break down your door to cut off your supply and I would have to pay for the cost of disconnection court costs etc, will they really do that or…

Worcester 24cdi combi boiler using lots of gas
My boiler is using lots of gas and I need to find out if the boiler needs replacing or if there is an issue with the gas meter. If I have the heating on dial 2 (temp 1 to 4) and use it for 15 minutes it uses 22 cubic feet (imperial) which equates to £0.25p. The average units per day used is 2.275 which is 71.70 KWH per day…

Energy Switch Rejected - Help Please
Hi MSE Supremos, We've recently moved into a new house which has different gas and electric companies supplying it. We tried switching to a new, third, supplier for both upon moving in but couldn't because we hadn't received our first bills. We tried a second time after receiving and paying our first named bills but were…

Npower go fix 8 finishes next week
Well guys that time again to change or not to change to another supplier.? IMO all the companies are useless, unhelpful and not transparent apart from British gas however they are well down on comparison sites think I will stick with useless npower at least I know how bad they are. Haha

Scottish Power overcharged me £1300 and are evading making a refund
Some years ago now I read one of my electricity bills fully for the first time. I discovered Scottish Power were charging me the same rate for Economy 7 as for standard power. I emailed them asking how long they had been doing this and they didn't tell me, but they replied that they had overcharged me by £1300 and would…

A bill from Scottish Power but not with them
We changed over months ago to EDF from repay to credit. We have had months of problems with EDF & the change over but finally it is sorted! See a previous thread. We have just received a bill from Scottish Power for 29 June 2012 - 22 January 2013 for £177.57. Surely we don't owe this. Who do we complain to, SP or EDF (yet…

Turning off thermostat in new flat
Hi, all, I just moved in to a new flat that I'm renting and it has a thermostat. I don't want gas coming on randomly, and would rather click it on when I want it. Is it OK to turn off the thermostat, or are there consequences to that? I'm also worried about mold, condensation and such, is a thermostat required to prevent…

Might get stuck with storage heating
I might end up with storage heating within a couple of weeks, and it is worrying me a lot. We have to relocate to Edinburgh on very short notice. The only property we have found that is remotely suitable doesn't specify the type of heat, but other flats for sale in the block indicate white meter heating. I can't see…
