Ovo direct debit manipulation
Hi, have any other OVO customers been asked to dis-proportionally increase the size of their monthly direct debits? Are they being asked to build up a credit of 1.9 x their DD to be ready for next winter? I have and I wonder how many others are being asked to do the same?

Npower account debacle
I have recently received the longest bill ever from Npower, 8 pages of it. In this, they cancel bills (all paid by Direct Debit) and re-issue bills for the past 4 years. Oh, and they issue me a new account. No explanation, nothing. Now, I'm not the most conscientious person when it comes to reviewing bills, especially…

EON - wish I hadn't changed tarrif!
I've been with EON for a couple of years. My income is ESA so limited and though I realise I don't gain from the direct debit discount I have liked the control I have over paying. I read my meters on the last day of the month, enter them online which generates a bill and I pay it online so it is paid in full each month.…

Standing charge verus two tier tariff
I am currently on the Britiish Gas online energy tariff that gives a 4% discount on standard charges. It's divided into two tiers: Tier 1 - 7.79 and Tier 2 - 4.39 I've noticed that there's an online variable Feb 2014 tariff which according to the comparison sites is a bit cheaper but has a standing charge instead of the…

slow refund from BG
Having to fight for a recent refund for my 91 year old father. ( £781) since mid November 2013 with BG , and finally taking it to the ombudsman service. it struck me how arrogant BG are. 8 advisors, and as stated a phone call and time placing the details in writing and e-mails, and receiving no replies to either. Father…

cheapest tariff and unit cost
Time to stop the smoking mirrors all utilities should regester the cheapest gas or electric cost, per unit in a table, costed at the same time, fixed for the year. This would be scrutinized by mse or age concern, for benefit of all fixed income households.:money:

How much do you pay for gas and electricity?
I currently live in an average sized two bedroom flat, which is all electric. We have storage heaters and an economy 7 meter with EDF. The ironic thing is, our bill is not economy at all. The storage heaters are really inefficient. They store up heat through the night (when the electricity rate is lower) and essentially…

Scottish power warm home discount - no response, what now?
I am hoping that the Scottish Power rep will spot this one and help me out here... I applied for the SP warm home discount, online, before christmas. It all seemed to go through okay, but I didn't get any acknowledgement or information, either by e-mail or post. Just a resounding silence. So last week I emailed the…

All I want is a bill.....
Changed to EDF Blue Price Promise last summer. Electricity, all OK. There was obviously a problem with the gas, although I had a final bill from British Gas and EDF have an opening reading. Despite a number of emails and calls, the gas still hasn't been set up. I have had gas from October but no bills so far. I obviously…

Collective Switch and Save Gas & Elec 'Lowest Bid' tariff
Hi all, I don't frequent the boards much so apologies if this has already been posted. I am not involved in any way with this, but just wanted to spread the word about the 'Surrey Switch and Save' gas & electric collective switching scheme currently being advertised, as it seems such a good deal for consumers. You don't…

The final straw...
I thought it best to put some feelers out before launching into my tirade. Firstly would people here be interested in hearing from someone in trenches as it were? Secondly would I breaking any of the rules here by doing so? I wouldn't do anything to in any way breach data protection, but people need to know what is going…

Npower credit rating and info sharing
Hello, My first post and asking for help. I have rented my house out with a letting agent on a fully managed basis while I went travelling overseas for 9 months. The agency promised to sort the change over of all the utilities, but didn't! Long story short...I have just come back to the UK to dozens of letters from…

Switching to SSE after Npower nightmare
Hi, I changed my Gas and Electricity supplier on the 4th November via uswitch to Npower from Scottish Power. Now the 30th of January - nothing, no letters, no phone calls. I have however had a direct debit pop up on my bank account and 2 emails from switch to confirm the switch payment/setup. I did chase 3 times, and after…

loss of power/volts/amps
I suffered from a power cut this morning at 4.30 am and lasted until approx 10:30 am. There are six blocks in the private complex I live in and they all suffered as did the local school. Now as I returned home this evening and turned the lights on I they are noticeably dimmer. like a dimmer tuned down a 1/4. I have turned…

EDF contacting at home on phone
I would be interested if anyone else has been contacted by EDF etc. cold calling them at home via there phone! asking them if they would be interested in swapping suppliers. this happened on 29th Jan 2013. They have stopped calling at homes and now seem to be cold telephoning instead.

Advice Please!!!
Hi I switched to Scottish Power recently for their fixed rate. I have submitted my first meter reading today and my gas bill is astronomical. I will give usage figures as I know this is the easiest way to tell: Meter readings (m3): Nov 7th: 992 Jan 30th: 1349 We live in a 3 bed house, heating is on for an hour in the…

Will my gas and Elec be cheaper in a new build
at the moment I live in a 3 bed 1930's double glazed and cavity wall insulated semi. My Elec is £104pm and the Gas £108pm. The house is up for sale and we are hopefully moving to a 3 bed Bellway new build. Do you think the gas and elec will be cheaper, the house I'm in at the moment seems to eat up energy. Thanks.

Huge increase to DDebit by Scottish Power
Scottish Power sent me an email to say they were increasing my montly DD from £69.45pcm to £126.00 pcm. Yup, that's right. No typo there. A 80+% increase. I challenged them. They said readings showed I'd used quite a lot of gas & electric. I said "It's winter!" and pointed out that it'll balance out in the summer. I'm on…

Black Spot Gas Meter - Faulty?
Hello, I am hoping that someone can offer me some advice regarding my gas meter. The suppliers are British Gas - and I have tried to discuss it with them, however they have been pretty unhelpful thus far. A bit of background... I have been with British Gas for the last 3 years. My previous home was a 1 bedroom flat with 3…
