EDF contacting at home on phone

I would be interested if anyone else has been contacted by EDF etc. cold calling them at home via there phone! asking them if they would be interested in swapping suppliers. this happened on 29th Jan 2013.
They have stopped calling at homes and now seem to be cold telephoning instead.

Just got a cold call from EDF offering me government energy incentives. I get calls of this nature on average twice a day. I deplore them. The callers nowadays almost always have my name (from which of many sources?) and they often display their number instead of WITHHELD in my caller id. The telephone preference service is a complete waste of space: it seems never to have prosecuted anyone in its entire history, so why are we wasting money on it? Being flagrantly rude to cold callers doesn't help (they often pass your number to other cold callers). It seems we are obliged to suffer the scourge of cold calls as part of 21st century life because nobody in authority is prepared to do anything tough about it.0

Are either of you two registered with the telephone preference service?
Have either of you asked the company to refrain from calling you?
I'm actually a current customer of EDF, and I don't think they have ever telephoned me.
I wouldn't be a customer much longer if they started making unsolicited marketing calls to me, especially if they were made after I explicitly asked them to stop0 -
I have since told EDF that they are breaking the law. As they are not allowed to call at homes or telephone for people to change Gas or Electric services, it seems to have worked heard nothing from them since. also informed my own Electric supplier who was not happy with there tack ticks..
