Shipperless supply
Hi I recently bought my first house and as a good MSE forum user i checked supplier tariffs and opted for a gas/elec combined supplier. There is a problem with my gas supply. It seems that i do not have a supplier. The previous owner was with british gas however, there seems to be a registration problem. The meter outside…

Savings, Comparisons and the Single Person
Hi. I'm sure this has come up before.. But please indulge me. I've been with the same dual electricity and gas people (Scottish) since I "inherited" them with my house, five years ago. I want to look into making savings. The first thing I did was sign up for the "Which?" survey/auction. I don't know my exact useage in kws…

I only want hot water yet the CH comes on!
Hi All, I have a Potterton Suprima boiler and the control panel (model EP2002) is directly below it. With it being August, I don't need the CH on so I just set the HW switch on for hot water. Recently, I've noticed that the radiators are coming on, too, which never happened before. The previous owners of this property did…

Choosing Utilities
My current supplier told me my annual consumption, quoted a price per kw for the coming year and total cost. The comparison sites quoted worth while savings which upon closer examination were not based on the actual price I was paying. So although I may be missing out on £30, I will be staying put. I suggest, reading your…

Npower backbilling
I have a query about my Npower electricity bill, I will admit that I havent followed my billing as closely as I should have done. I pay my bill online, and frankly hadn't noticed that I hadn't had a bill in a while. It turns out my meter was broken and not counting my electricity used. The meter has now been replaced and…

£307 per month direct debit
Hello All, Scottish Power have fixed my dd at £307 per month. My bill is in arrears of £1782 due to a massive gas bill last year. Is there anything I can do? I desperately don't want to have prepayment meters but I really don't think I can afford £307 per month.:(:(:(

Single MPAN, 2 meters...help!!
Hi, My flat (currently rented by a tenant) has a problem with the meters... The flat has a single MPAN but 2 meters - a single rate meter and a 'de-energised' economy 7 meter. I have put this in inverted commas as up until Feb 2012, the single rate meter was 'de-energised' then all of a sudden I received a huge bill for 4…

EON On-line readings - System crash
Since early August EON's on-line readings facility has been down and is expected to remain so until the end of the month. All bills are currently based on estimated readings. A system upgrade has gone wrong. No notification on their site.

Cheaper tariff not listed?
Hi, I signed with OVO energy some years ago now and have had no problems whatsoever. Customer service, on the rare occasions I've needed it, have been excellent. Anyway, the subject of this post is that OVO was not even mentioned in the article. I was easily able to download my usage statistics from their site together…

Switching from EDF Blue+ Sept 2013 to Blue+ April 2014
I'm currently on EDF Blue+ fixed to Sept 2013. As far as I can see from a quick look, the new version (EDF Blue+ fixed to April 2014) has very similar rates (about 0.5p/kWh cheaper for electricity and 0.1p/kWh more expensive for gas, for my region) but has the considerable benefit of the longer fix. Since there is no…

British Gas in phonathon
Hi I'm new! I've had 4 calls in less than a week from BG. The government (no less) has told them to advise customers of cheapest tarriffs. They find (honestly) that many people are paying more by not switching electricity and gas to a single supplier... um... viz... them! I tried to switch my electricity some 5 years ago,…

Npower Hometeam (Initial Inspection)
Anyone use this for Boiler/Central Heating? I have just taken out their service with the £15 monthly dd where you get unlimited call outs etc. I have read a few bad reviews but then again I take the majority with a pinch of salt. Does anyone know how thorough the 'initial inspection' is? Reason being is that my boiler is a…

Looking for an electric supplier with prepaid meter and no standing charge
Recently I took possession of a small flat. I do not intend to live in the property for at least a year. I identified the electric supply was from British Gas, so I contacted them 8 weeks ago and asked if they could swap the meter to prepaid because I did not want to be paying a standing charge for electric in a property…

E.on Rep Please Help
I have logged on here as I have seen from other threads that this is a remarkably efficient way of contacting help from E.on. I have an account by default with E.on on a property which I let out. Previous tenants Mr and Mrs Devine were customers of E.on and during their 5 year tenure between 2005 and 2010 had a key meter…

EDF Energy Customer Service Nightmare
Has anyone else experienced the extremely long waiting time it takes to get through to EDF customer services? Are moneysupermarket still giving cashback for switching energy through them? It's still mentioned on moneysavingexpert but when I go to moneysupermarket, I can't see any mention of it. (only a £40 cashback for Scottish power dual fuel.)
