Wet Electric and Economy 10
Hopefully someone can help! I have just moved into a rental property which has a wet-electric heating system and a heatrae sadia electromax boiler. I have been told that this is not a very efficient system but I am currently on a standard electricity tariff with Spark Energy - I can only assume that this is the worst…

Npower - Direct Debit Amount
Morning All, I'm hoping this is going to be an easy one, but I don't fancy wasting my time on hold to Npower to ask. Last Feb I received a huge bill from Npower as we hadn't been updating our readings and was told that I would have to pay a lot more to get it back into the black. Obviously there's nothing I can do about…

Panorama 07/11/11
Just popping a thread up to see if anyone caught this last night. Seemed to be arguing that the reason for rising prices is obvious and it is the government. I have some sympathy with this argument, and in particular I did feel Huhne was (is) a bit slippery. What exactly IS he saying about energy prices? They'll go down,…

Does anyone have any suggestions ? Electricity price for tumble dryer versus dehumidifier
OK, this is geeky but we've worked out how it compares to dry a load of washing a) using our Ebac dehumidifier for 8 hours on Laundry mode, and b) in our Zanussi tumble dryer for 2 hours. We used a British Gas electricity monitor. We are on Economy 7 electrics with Southern Electric. We did different calculations for the…

Hi - I'm new to all this so was hoping that someone would be able to help me. Recently moved into 3 bed 1st floor flat and having trouble with the central heating: Took the meter reading, ran the heating for one hour and took the meter reading again. Gas consumption worked out at £6 for the hour the heating was used. Have…

Is this the new energy mis-selling?
Had an "interesting" conversation with Southern Electric today. They claimed that ALL the comparison sites are dishonest. They ALL only promote energy companies which give them the most commission and should NOT be relied upon at all .. except UKpower, which is independant. I'm switching away from them to Ovo after running…

Energypluscare with southern electric ended, which is best now?
I have been informed by southern electric that the 20% discount I recieve as an energypluscare customer has now ended and they no longer offer this discount. They have advised me of the warm home discount rebate of £120 a year which I will most likely be able to claim but this works out to be much less than the 20%…

Scottish Power not refunding credit
After switching my gas and electric to EDF from Scottish Power in August 2011 I have awaited my credit refund of c £150 from Scottish Power. Nothing was forthcoming so I rang Scottish Power and they apologised saying they didn't know what had gone wrong and would send the refund by cheque. I alerted my brother who had also…

ScottishPower failing their own customer charter!
Having been a ScottishPower customer for over a year, I refused to accept their price increase which were due from 1st August and had it confirmed by them in an email that I would remain on my dual fuel online saver 13 tariff until I was switched over to another supplier as I had advised them before 1st August. Despite…

Beat that Quote - Vanishing Cashback
If like me you used Beat that Quote last time to switch utility supplier, and based your calculations on the promise of a £35 cashback 90 days after the switch took effect, then by now if my experience is anything to go by you will be living on the breadline. My switch came into effect mid May, yet many email chasers and…
