Quantum Gas Meter
I'm having a Quantum Gas Meter installed this month nov, 2011 ive been trying to do some research. One thing i'm worried about is the meter being tamperd with as it's outside, Will the meter shut down? or give me a error code, if so could i reset it myself i don't really won't to wait for my supplier as it's a 4hour window for them to arrive, Any comments would be very grateful

The meter will be in a box which you should be able to lock, should you wish to. There are outside meters in my street (although mine is indoors) and they have never had a problem with being tampered with, as far as I am aware. Locking the box should be no more of a problem for the meter reader than having it inside, so I don't see why you wouldn't be able to attach a padlock or similar if it's a concern.
HTHSo, there are these boys,

no they must not put a padlock on it as that stops access for meter readers sent by the owner of the meter to read it and prevents access by the gas emergency service should they need it.I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

No they shouldnt pad lock, but nothing in legislation to stop it. It will however send a report to the supplier with a MP2 flag saying possible tamper if a meter reader sees it. Inregards to emergencys if they cant access it, they can and will force entry or cut it off at the street tap.
Op meters can get vandalised, but people dont tend to tamper other peoples meters. I wouldnt advice it, if yours does get tampered or vandalised contact your supplier before someone else sees it and reports you.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -

Who do you think might tamper with it?
Has anyone tampered with your existing meter?
There are thousands of meters up and down the country in outside boxes which survive unmolested be they gas, electric or water.
The four hour window is an absolute maximum . If anything "goes wrong" with your meter, it will be recorded and the data captured.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
