Energypluscare with southern electric ended, which is best now?

I have been informed by southern electric that the 20% discount I recieve as an energypluscare customer has now ended and they no longer offer this discount. They have advised me of the warm home discount rebate of £120 a year which I will most likely be able to claim but this works out to be much less than the 20% discount on the energypluscare scheme so I will be worse off.

I have always stayed with southern electric simply because of the energypluscare discount plus I have always been happy with them. Unfortunately now I feel I will have to try and look or a deal that will lose me the least money and possibly move to another company. The warm home discount is also offered by other companies but are there any that offer anything similar to the energypluscare scheme?

Which is the best move to make after the energypluscare scheme has ended?
Thanx

I'd start with a check on one of the recommended comp sites, using your annual kWH consumption figures.
What matters is the actual annual cost, not what percentage discount you might get.

Thanks I checked with one comparison site using my annual useage as you suggested. It came up that Scottish power fixed till dec 2013 would be the cheapest. That is showing as a £250 saving

The lowest SSE Southern electric can offer me is the fixed tracking discount which will track 2% lower and an added 1% lower if I go to online billing which shows as a £7 on the comparison site.

They wont actually be savings because I will be losing the 20% energyplus discount excluded in the above calculations so the scottish power one will still lose me some even after the rebate for the warm home discount but I'll lose a big ammount if I stay with southern electric.

I don't like having to leave SSE as they have been great really, they have 5 star service reviews compared to scottish powers 3 stars but when it comes to that amount of money I have to move. I wish SSE had better offers scottish power dominate the comparison sites at the moment

Do you think theres any chance that SSE might change thier offers soon? because at this rate they will definitely lose customers, I've been with them for about 18 years

They said the standard tarrif is not a contract so I was wondering if it might be worth just waiting a bit in case they introduce a more competative tarrif as being so low on the comparison sites has got to have an effect
    Thanx

I think you mean you've been on energyplus care contract for the past 2 years which has come to an end and SSE no longer offer social tariffs.
