I would appreciate some advice over which supplier has taken money incorrectly. I switched to EDF in July for Gas and Electricity, the electricity has gone through fine but I am having problems with the gas transfer. EDF inform me that the supply started on 18.08.11 and took a Direct Debit payment out in September, however…

I keep getting letters from British Gas saying "thank you for cancelling your direct debit with us" which I never have. I have been on to them more times than I can remember and told them I have never cancelled my direct debit. They told me the problem has arisen because they are trying to merge gas and electricity as one…

New kid on the block - OVO
I'm in the Eastern region, just coming off a Scottish Power capped deal. They want an 18% increase to cap to end 2013. Having established my annual usage (dual fuel) I shopped around - came across OVO, who started supplying in 2009. They offer 12 months rolling fixed prices - no frills, no discounts, just straightforward…

Cheaper/better to leave boiler on all day and use the thermometer or put on timer?
I have heard that if you leave the boiler turned to "ON" rather than timed and use the temperature (ie leave at 10/12 degrees during the day and overnight and then when you are in and need heat turn it up) its more efficient. Or should you keep it off so it only comes on at the set times at the higher temperature you want?…
