Cold Call From Scottish and Southern
I switched utility companies towards the end of November from SSE to EDF. The electricity went through fairly quickly but the gas only changed on the 6th of January. Anyway, the other day a guy turned up claiming to be from SSE and said he wanted to check our rate was correct. I explained about the change and he said that…

Stupid confusing electricity!
So I moved out of my flat and gave meter readings. The company then say the readings I give are incorrect, so I sent them a photo of the readings, which I'm pretty sure they can't dispute. They said the readings should begin with a 4, but they actually begin with a 2. I contacted them again today, and the guy I spoke to at…

British Gas bill following price increases - is it fair?
Hi All, We have recently received our dual fuel bills from British Gas for the last period. However the estimated meter readings were way off, so we submitted the correct ones. I informed them of this and they arranged for an engineer to come to fix it on 5th Feb. They told me that they should be able to still…

British Gas - Unfair Estimate readings
My latest bill showed an estimated reading (when their prices increased) - of 155 metric units over 68 days (3rd Oct - 9th Dec) & 120 metric units over 34 days (10th Dec - 12 Jan 2011). Surely this should be 2/3rd and 1/3rd of metric units used? So, 183 metric units over 68 days & 92 metric units over 34 days. It seems…
