Imp 1000
On our electric meter there is an LED light the flashes when electricity is being used. Beneath it says "IMP 1000". It can't correspond to 1 unit because we'd be using about £100 an hour if it did.. so what does it mean ? It flashes faster when using more electricity.

Cheaper Electricity the Easy Way
I have knocked £30 off my quarterly electricity bill (i.e. £10 per month), that adds up to £120 per year – read on to see how you can do it as well. :j As you all know you can reduce your electricity bill by switching suppliers. However, as many of you will have experienced, this can ultimately prove to be a very stressful…

Does anyone here use British Gas websaver online?
and has it saved you any money? My Gas bill has doubled in the last year even though we have been using less units and British Gas claim to have cut prices twice in the last year. I'm frustrated to say the least, I've been recommended to switch tariffs to websaver, but am now thinking to switch suppliers instead!!!!

Average kW/h usage?
I have just been billed £372 from Scottish Power for 3313 units of electricity over 118 days (Dec. to Apr). That is 28 units per day, £3 per day. Does that sound reasonable for a very small one-bedroom detached bungalow? It is heated by one convection heater and only uses electricity for cooking, computer and radio (I have…

Best company for new lease - unaware of usage patterns
I'm just about to take up a new 6 month lease on a one-bed flat. Can anyone recommend a gas provider and elec provider that is generally OK - given I currently have no idea of my usage patterns (though I suspect I'll be heavy on gas given I really feel the cold and the cooker is gas)

Scottish Power - Best Cashback site?
Using USwitch, I've worked out that Scottish Powers 'Online Energy Saver 9 Dual Fuel' appears to be most cost effective for me (currently with Southern Electric for both, and very low user). I've then checked the cashback sites: - Quidco: offers £62 cashback :j(but for me, I'd need to pay this cashback site another £5 in…
