Is anyone else getting a bit bored of having to check each month or so that they arent now being stitched up by an expired tariff !!

I only switched a few months ago to ScottishPower Online Saver 7, I now check and it has been superceeded by 8 and 9, and neither are cheaper anymore than Eon which could save me £157 per year.

Therefore cancellation charge of £50 from scot power, switch to EDF with quidco of £40 and saving of £157.

Has anyone got a calculator that works out the optimum time to switch though, based on penalty fee, size of saving and I guess more importantly usage phased by month - ie that saving of £157 would be loaded more in Winter rather than the summer we are heading towards, hence is it worth sticking with it and switch and take the penalty in August ready for the great October boiler switch on ceremony.

I'm just bored of it all. There should be more to life than having to micro analyse gas and elecy bills just to check you arent being stitched up.

I wonder if Martin could create a tool that monitored all of this armed with your usage stats etc and just kept doing the switches for you !!Nirvana.

To make matters doubly worse I have to manage the mother in laws energy supply too !

Yeh, its called renationalisation of the energy industry. All this price comparing bullsh*t is so boring :(, there are so many better things to do rather than having to check every ~6 months to make sure I'm not being milked by my gas & electric supplier.

it is not necessary to check prices that often, once every 6 months or when there are price changes will do

I do mine once every 6mo, and I generally don't lock myself in (or at the very least, don't lock myself in for very long & with low fees) to make the process even easier :)

    Hi

In December/January after I've received the £100 discount and the fixed price for npower Go Fix ends I'll have to do some price comparisons. Hopefully I can stay with npower. If not I might change via cashback.
