Best company for new lease - unaware of usage patterns
I'm just about to take up a new 6 month lease on a one-bed flat.
Can anyone recommend a gas provider and elec provider that is generally OK - given I currently have no idea of my usage patterns (though I suspect I'll be heavy on gas given I really feel the cold and the cooker is gas)

Hi jayflat - Unless this flat is a new-build, it will already have a Gas & Elect provider and to protect yourself from any debt a previous tenant may have had, it's vital that you read the meters on the day yor tenancy agreement starts - The water meter too if has one - and report these figures to the suppliers by phone and confirm them in writing.
If you only intend to stay in the flat for the 6 month period, it's not really worth bothering with Switching to other providers as during the Summer your Gas bills will be low and the Electric appx. 20% lower than winter.
However if you intend to renew the lease beyond the 6 months, to get an idea of your winter bills add 80% to your summer gas bills and 20% to the summer Elec bills

If you feel the cold purchase a heated underblanket for your bed and heated throw for your sofa, they cost pennies to run.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
