Gas meter problems
I have asked National Grid gas to move my gas meter, the cost as others have posted is horrendous. There is no movement from this monopoly. What right do they have to put their meter on my property?

Heating & Plumbing central/NetPlumb
I had these guys, Heating & Plumbing central, come and service my combination boiler - no problem with boiler just thought it could do with a service as last one was 2 years before. They sent a contractor, NetPlumb, round, he did the job and then said he had never heard of the boiler make that I have, which is a…

Gas meter
I put money in my gas meter on Saturday. The debt is meant to come off the Wednesday, however has not. My partner is of the opinion it will when we top up again. Is it not the case the meter takes the debt of on the Wednesday if the money is available in the meter?

Do energy companies charge interest on debts?
I currently have an outstanding debt with scottish power, not my fault. Funnily enough they were charging too little per month for the amount of electricity and gas my flatmates and I were using. Can they charge interest on my debt to them?

Quidco is best switching technique!!!!!
Despite everything I've read on MSE I really don't think the MSE articles on switching gas and electricity deals offer the best for customers. My procedure is simple: 1.Registering for Quidco 2.Check a few of the comparison sites to get a feel for which is the best supplier 3.Clearing my cookies on my computer, 4 Logging…

Electricity bill- in credit but not in credit!?
We had our meter read two weeks ago. We never had a bill. We phoned them tonight. Apparently we are £150 in credit. I pay a directly debit each month. We phoned them to ask them for the money back- this is where it gets confusing. They say that they have not generated the bill yet- so we are in credit but will not be by…

Online gas and electricity tariff
We are looking to switch to an on-line tariff to save money. Ideally we would like to pay by variable direct debit based upon meter readings that we do ourselves. Alternatively we could do monthly direct debit based upon our supplied meter reading. We don't want to get into a flat monthly amount that is 'adjusted'…

Eon renewal tariff
Hi Our fixed deal ends 1st April with Eon and have looked on various sites as suggested by MSE but can't decide which is best. Have just received the renewal for Eon which is capped till May 2012 as standard prices but with 5.9% premium. Our dual fuel usually costs us £90 a month paid by DD. Would it be worthwhile…

National Meter Database- Does it exist?
Arggh! Excuse my frustration, but I've spent the best part of my day off on hold and caught between two utility companies and I'm letting off a bit of steam here... My problem: I've been a customer of Scottish Power for some years on their dual fuel online tariff. A few weeks ago I received a notice that they were…

british gas con
british gas made a lot of noise about recent price cuts but forgot to tell us that this cut was not applied to their essentials tariff, thats the cheaper price they give to people on low income and benefits. they have in effect penalised the least well off of their customers, typically those with long term health problems,…
