Monthly Billing
Hi, Can anyone give a list (or where I can find one) of electric and gas suppliers that provide a service that allow billing on a monthly basis? It doesn't really matter if it is web-based, direct debit, dual fuel etc, as long they allow monthly meter readings and then accurate monthly billing. I would prefer not to be…

Who has really saved money by switching suppliers?
I know the comparison websites show amounts you could save (and last year we moved to a capped duel fuel deal with British Gas) but I can't put my hand on my heart and prove that we saved money by doing so. Can anybody produce some solid proof that switching actually saves you the amount of money they say you will. If we…

Where can a pensioner get a cheap(recommended) boiler repair
My Mum's (a penioner) boiler has gone on the blink.Scottish Gas came out and quoted her £175 for the repair. Does anybody know of any companies who are reputable in Scotland and may be able to offer competitive quotes for repairs? She was with staywarm but I don't think she's entitled to a cheap repair

EDF Energy are overbilling VAT - BEWARE!!
I'm sure most people check their gas and electric bills carefully but does that also extend to computing the VAT charge? No doubt people believe that a massive company such as EDF has a computer that is capable of multiplying by 5 and dividing the answer by 100 without having to check their figures. WRONG!!! One expects a…

Rip-off tarrifs which should be illegal ie EDF
I have been looking at the small print on their tariffs and I am shocked. Basically you sign up to buy energy at a rate which they can set, the only guarantee they give you is that it will at worst be similar to another rate (standard rate) which they can also set. Worse still you have to stay on that tarrif untill a…

No bill for 12 months
Question... what are the rules regarding billing? I've not had a correct bill for over 12 months. Said quarterly bills have all been estimates - and of zero usage. I've tried many time to provide my reading both on-line and by phone, but the supplier can't take it as there is "a bill in progress" I've E-mailed them, and…

Hi, We received a letter from nPower today stating that our monthly direct debit will be increasing to £250 (previously its been £123 but we're always in credit), £155 for gas and £95 for electricity, this would first be debited on the 4th November. This seemed way over the top as our most recent statement showed £100 or…
