Scottish Power trying to charge me £20 for gas I haven't used!
Hi All, Am sooooo angry it's untrue! When we moved in February, both the gas and electric were with SP on card meters. I rang up to ask them to switch me to normal meters due to my partner's disability meaning constant central heating is a must for us. I was advised that it would cost me £125 per meter to be switched over…

Scottish Gas slagging off this site!!!!
Having run up a large debt with Scottish Gas (they set my monthly DD at £39 when I was using around £120 of gas per month) they've now put my DD up to £256!! I don't mind too much as it was effectively an interest-free loan and all savings go into my mortgage so don't mind having to pay it back. However, I phoned to ask…

DD or Pay Bills
Is it better to pay by DD and get a 3% reduction in bill or to put the DD money away each month in a savings account and earn 5% interest on it and pay the bills out of this when they arrive? I think the second is better, am i right?

British Gas
Yes again! my daughter has just moved into a rented house, we know from the previous occupier that both Gas and Electricity are supplied by BG, however when she called them to give them her meter readings when she moved in they can find the electric supply but not the gas. When she supplies the postcode for the gas it's…

Switching Gas And Electric!
Hi! I have switced once before and went to npower for both gas and electric! I now find my direct debits spiralling upwards and have gone to search on the search sites to see if anyone else is cheaper. I do find it confusing though! Gas switch query
The difference for gas savings are quite huge for us at around 500 pounds from scottish power to npower. This is on actual kwh usage, we use around 50 000 kwh of gas per year. Is it worth the risk, hassle to switch to npower with all these sculpting issues? Or shall i move to atlantic who come to up next cheapest saving…

Yipee! Ebico on the 29th - bit of advice please
We've received a change over date from Southern of the 29th April, I've phoned through our meter readings as requested. A while back the lady at Ebico told me that they handle everything and will inform our old supplier (BG), which was confirmed by the lady that I gave the readings to at Southern when she told me "your old…

Switch from monthly D/D to variable quarterly
British Gas informed me with my last bill that my monthly payment would be going up from £33 to £47 a month  I know gas prices have gone up, but that seemed a bit over the top and since, even after the winter quarter, we're still £22 in credit I felt it was approaching rip-off. I searched the BG site and couldn't find…

Erroneous transfers????
Hi there, I am having an electricity supply nightmare and would greatly appreciate some advice! I moved my electricity to EDF energy early last year and have since had too many issues to list here!!! My main concern however is that in Sept 07 British Gas erroneously took control of our electricity supply. It then took me 5…

Hmmm NPower - fraudulent selling
We're in an interesting position....we went to the Ideal Home Exhibition (free tickets!) and spoke to NPower whilst we were there. We went through some figures and were quite interested but we weren't sure. The chap we were speaking to then said "well you know you can't sign up today anyway" and went on to say that there…

Scottish Power Premier Plus Capped Price...
Hi all, Hoping someone can help. My mum is currently with Scottish Power on the above price plan, but we're having some difficulty in finding a cheaper supplier as her price plan is never included on the comparison sites, meaning they estimate her bill as far lower than it is! Anyone got any ideas of how to find out who's…

Extremely High Gas Bill! Can This Be Correct?!?!? Help!!!
Hi there, I am more than concerned about the gas bill we've just received. There is a standing charge of 14.24 pence per day (x 75 days is £10.68) which is fine and liveable for nearly a quarter, BUT -- the scary part is in the usage! We had a new meter put in on the 30th of Jan. so it appears to have taken it from there.…

Moving an electricity pole
I am in the process of building an extension on to our home (cottage, very rural setting) and slap in the middle of it there is an electricity pole supplying my house and two others. NEDL say it will take up to 16 weeks to move the pole (despite having cashed my cheque for £500 for the work!) which would totally scupper my…

monesupermarket vs quidco - numbers dont add up
Been looking at changing the gas and electric over for the inlaws, have found that going through moneysupermarket.com I can save them 259.44 with Scottish Power and get the £30 cashback (£289.44 total). Being a member of quidco I got them to sign up as quidco members and looked at going through that way as Scottish Power…

Finding out supplier
Hi Moving to a new home and the guy we are buying off is a BTL investor who never lived in the property, and so has no utility bills to give my solicitor to prove who supplies the property. How can I find out who the electricity supplier is? (No gas at the property). Thanks
