Broken Electric meter or is someone using my electric
             Just about to post my own post but thought this may be relevant I run a business and my monthly elec bills have always been between 400 -500 a month have just recieved a bill from BG for ONE MONTH £5000.00 now wont bore you with the details but I have tried everything and BG wont talk to me as I am about to change over to E-On so not their problem. The giant leap in bill coincides with an E-On distributor taking everything out of one fazer and placing it into the other one that we have -never used. (This was done due to a power cut although the fazer we have always used was working)
One more thing have just done daily readings and it works out that my day and night units are 50/50 so
When the place is closed and night rate kicks in and this last 7.5 hours I use 70 units and when day rate kicks in and lasts 16.5 hours and everything is turned on I use 72 units
Oh have just killed all the elctric appliances in my place and the dial is still going round is this correct
Hope someone can help

Is Captain Kirk charging his dilithium crystals off your fazer?
Seriously if you have no appliances running you meter should be at a standstill.
What happens if you switch off at the fuse board? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Are you sertain you have a 2 rate tarrif? (night and day) - i thought they were only available to domestic customers?
I think the "fazer" you are reffering to is actually "phase"
Many businesses have a 3-phase supply as they need to run large motors, lift machinary etc which run more smoothly and efficiently on a 3 phase supply (also the bigger power motors only come as 3 phase)
What sort of business is it and what sort of devices is the electricity used for?
If you have 3-phase I think you'll have a meter for each phase, - did the e.on guy take a final reading from the phase he moved from and an initial reading for the phase that he moved to? perhaps you have been billed for a complete "once around the meter" if the 2 readings have been missed.
MPI have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.
