British Gas Have Not Opened My Account
I tried to transfer my Gas to British Gas last October and after massive delays due to IGT, I received my final NPOWER bill today. Which says that they stopped supplying me on the 20th Of Feb. I have not received anything from British Gas and all they can say is there is a delay on setting up my account and it is being looked at. By the time they sort this out I will owe them Gas for a quarter and i am so angry as they say that it is being investigated. How b****y hard can it be to open an account. I already have electricity with them. They just say that simetimes this happens. Well surely they should be able to sort it out.

We had this problem when moving from BG to another provider. It's all to do with having the IGT - it takes a lot longer and costs us more in the long run (something developers don't tell you when buying on a new estate).
I ended up having to check with a company (Pipeline?? So sorry, cannot remember their name - anyone help??) who can confirm who is actually supplying your gas and since when.
We finally had to go and complain to EnergyWatch as BG was still billing us even though they had finally finished supplying us 3 months earlier.
Are you really sure you want to move to BG - their customer service is shocking (as I guess you are experiencing now).0 -
OP, i would advise putting a similar ammount to what your were paying NPower for gas to one side (high interest savings account?) until it is sorted.
MPI have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.
