Stick with Calor or switch?
I'm not on mains gas and have LPG supplied by Calor, currently they are offering me £50 to stay with them. I've assumed that because my tank and pipework is provided by Calor that I can't use anyone else but maybe I'm wrong. Is this a good offer from Calor or should I look to switch - it seems so expensive, so much that I…

Beware of E4B contract
My 12 month E4B contract was due for renewal on 19/02/2008. As they intended to increase the price by 51% I decided to serve notice to terminate(by recorded delivery just in case!) and change supplier. After getting several quotes I decided to go with a broker called energyadviceline.org. They advised me to go with…

Electricity : Advice sought for best tariff
I'm Looking at my electricity usage / tariff again, I am wondering what is the best tariff for me. I have no gas so, electric is the only way to heat my flat. When I moved in, each room in the flat had a horrible hard wired convection heater, with thermostat for temperature control. I stripped the heaters once I moved in…

Directly underneath this (in the bedroom) we have an immersion cylinder (I think this stores hot water). The timer control is located here…

EDF Standard Tarrif? Give them a call!!!
 I used energywatch site to check I stll had the cheapest supplier in EDF. Strangely, it told me I could save if I "moved" to EDF "online 5"which would have apparently saved me about £130. I rang them to ask if I could go on this tariff instead of the standard tarif and they stated that they had changed their policy…

Scottish and Southern
In the media lately have been many instances where Scottish and southern Energy has been mentioned as the company not to switch to because of their upcoming price rise. As with previous years Scottish and Southern energy have been the ones that raise the prices last, and reduce them again first. Switch or not to switch, is…

Why I hate paying by DD!!!
I have electricity through Scottish Power. Last year they clearly charged me far too much on my DD and I was always £100 or so in credit when I worked out the bill every quarter. This year they reduced the DD from £39 to £18 (a huge difference and it shows how much they overcharged me). This is now the end of the first…
