Gas meters - Siemans
Has anyone else experienced trouble with Siemens replacing gas meters? I have had a three year wait for my replacement meter (Siemens working on behalf of British Gas contacted me to say it had to be replaced for safety and accuracy reasons). I was let down twice with engineers not turning up for appointments (8am to 8pm)…

British Gas ...the cheeky ^%&*%$"!
I have to vent my anger and see where I stand legally! The problem arose after a yearly service on my in-laws gas fire, The appliance was working perfectly before the service , but after became very difficult to light. After a request to come back and rectify the problem they were told it was a non-urgent problem and that…

npower trouble.
My OH sent a letter to npower yesterday. I am posting the content here to save me explaining the situation. _______________________________________________________________ When we switched suppliers from British Gas to Npower we continued to use the prepayment meter as we were advised it could save us money. Over a period…

friends energy supply taken without consent.
Hi EDF took my friend's gas supply without her authorization or knowledge. Her original provider Southern Electricity kept sending her letters saying 'sorry to see you go', she told them that she didn't understand why they were sending her letters as she didn't intend to leave them. Then on the 2nd Feb 08 EDF had taken…

British Gas pay me 1500 pounds after billing problem
I moved to British Gas nearly three years ago for my electricity. They never billed me, even online. I called a lot of times trying to get them to sort it out, but gave up (and asked them to cancel my direct debit, hoping it would get them to do something about it). Last week I got a bill for over 2700 pounds. British Gas…

It uses 0.6 units per 24 hours which adds up to about 20p per day and around £70 per year. thanks for any help.

What can we do about 'estimated' meter reading?
Before Christmas sometime my boyfriend was cornered by an Eon salesman in the supermarket and (perhaps foolishly) agreed to be signed up to recieve information from them. No information turned up in the post, but they did sign us up with an unwanted Eon electricity account! The first we heard about this was when we…

Deemed Supply
I am the owner of a building which was, until recently tenanted. The tenant moved out on 11th Feb and I have switched off the electricity and gas at the mains. British Gas say "ok, when you let, the tenant will move in, turn on the gas and be our customer unless he changes supplier." Opus energy (who the tenants switched…

New house, no bills yet
Afternoon In December last year I moved into a private rented house with 2 friends. We have yet to receive any utilities bills or even notification of who is supplying us. Now sounds like luxury but worried that we're gonna be stung with a beast of a bill so want to get in there first and not have them estimating. I have…

How often can you switch?
I switched to Scottish Gas last month before Martin advised us to do so and realise that I'm not saving anything. I want to switch again but do you have to wait a certain amount of time before switching? I've compared suppliers today and can save £13 a month if I move. Thanks for any advice!

I moved into a new house last September and stayed with Scottish Power who had been supplying the gas and electric to the previous owners. We rang up to say we were the new owners and needed to change the contact details, this all went through ok. About 3 weeks ago we got a whopping bill for £644 for the previous 3 months,…

UK Energy Prices
Along with many others I have grumbled and groaned about the increases in energy prices. In fact, I have just shifted supplier now the market has settled after the last round of rises. In today's Sunday Times there is a two page story about the energy market in the UK. A lot of it bears scrutiny; appalling Customer…
