Scottish Power Online Rules
Under the Scottish Power online energy rules, meter readings must be submitted every 90 days. I read in the T&C's they may make a "reasonable charge" for each instance of my breaking the rules (i.e. not supplying a reading in the 90 days). Has this ever happened to anyone? - if so how much is this reasonable charge?

Which programme setting on your heating is the most energy efficient?
As gas prices have gone through the roof, I was trying to see if it's possible to save any money in this area as I'm sure we all are. Over the years, I've been told different things by different plumbers as to which is the most energy efficient way of heating your home if you've already got gas central heating, so I…

Of late I have been receiving rather large bills from my elec. supplier. In fact my bills are usually quite high anyway as I do pay a direct debit of £100 each month and assumed the account would be in credit (which it is and I have asked for it back, before you ask). This in itself prompted me to call my supplied. On the…

Electricity Smart Meters
In the 2006 budget the government announced £5m for 'smart meters.' These meters would provide instant updates on energy usage and can be read remotely. These meters do not, however, give the user an itemised breakdown of how much electricity each appliance is using in the household. For my final year project at…

Change electric from card meter to quarterly bill?
Hi all. Hoping for some advice. I know that I currently pay more for my electricity by having a card meter than I would if I changed to quarterly bill and I'm *thinking* about changing. I'm not sure if its worth it though. I know from a spending POV its cheaper but I'm not sure its worth it from a peace of mind POV. At the…
