DLA expires?
My partner has chronic ME and has been off work for 2 years and took an assessment and was granted a disabled living allowance. The DHSS (or whoever they are now) has now stopped this saying it only lasts a year. Is this right? I thought it lasted until you got better - if that is possible?

Advice on Shopping Trolley for disabled
Does anyone know where I can buy a shopping trolley with 4 sturdy wheels so it will act as a walking aid as well? All the ones I have found have been the usual disabled looking kind. I am looking for something a bit funky not so "disabled" looking and not too big.

Carers allowance and Housing benefit Premiums
I have been having a lot of problems getting my housing benefit correct. I have finally managed to get them to add on the disabled child premium, and that has been dated back for 2.5 years! However, I get carers allowance, so I believe there should be a carer's premium too. However the housing officer person insists that…

Blue Badge parking in private land
Anybody else notice that the ticket machines in private land car parks eg out of town retail parks are no where near the disabled parking bays? I have never had a problem with paying for parking it'sjust the fact the machines are almost always situated away from disabled bay areas. Or is it just me who thinks this?

Keep a watch on elderly/disabled in their homes

Just wondering if anyone is getting direct payments? & how much do you have to put to it? Increase in personal tax allowance
I have had to ask my manager to decrease the number of hours for which I am paid (although I will still work the hours) as the new personal tax allowance will take me over the earnings threshold for claiming carer's allowance. There is no way on this earth she can work but that's unfortunately a moot point now. She's now terrified that her DLA is next and that will automatically be reviewed…
