Direct Payments (mental health).

Just wondering if anyone is getting direct payments? & how much do you have to put to it?
I had a financial assesment today for direct payments & the amount I have to contribute works out at £2002 per year. My care worker has said I would be entitled to £2600 per year, so I'm thinking it' not worth the commitment, especially since they will check my records to make sure I'm spending the money on what has been agreed.
